It's new music and it is better. It's still not as good as running your iTunes in the background, but you can live with the new music. It grows on you after a while

I hate the new one while the old one was actually bearable.

maybe it could be an idea for the PCM Daily DB team to add some new music. |

why? Just like in PCM07, you can replace it with your own music. In PCM08, there is no need to convert to .ogg - place your own music into a folder called 'my mp3' in the sounds folder. It automatically stops playing the original tunes after that. I have to say, I really liked the music in the trailers, but hearing it ingame on a loop for 4 hours really changed my mind
It's a little buggy though when you do this - it occasionally doesn't change the track when its finished and keeps looping - annoying if your stuck in the management section, because you need the 3D race controls to skip onto the next track
EDIT: I'll place the second part of this answer in bug reports

As Addy said: Just run iTunes og WMP in the background and turn of the music ingame. It's far the easiest option. |

I did something in the past for PCM07 and launched a soundtrack. I'm planning to do the same this year, I already have some songs in my mind for that.

7 tunes isn't enough if you want to play the game for more than 15 minutes without hearing the same generic dance music in the background
Look at Pro Evo, for instance - the music is very naff and cheesy, but at least there is lots of it. |
