I bought both 2006 and 2007, but 2007 was so unstable at times, it drove both my son and me crazy. Even with the patches, it still seems a bit twitchy. Anyone care to comment on the stability of 2008 compared with 2007? Being on the wrong side of the pond, I will likely have to buy the download version (oh, look, nasty copy protection... oh joy...)
I hate being a Beta tester without being told I'm a Beta tester... |

No reason for a question on this. It's soooo clear. |

well.... career in 2008 is unplayable at least for any of the big teams. That pretty much makes it unplayable for me

PCM08 hands down. It's not only better than PCM07 it's, argueabley, the best PCM game thus far.

I agree. Glitches, of course, any new release has them.
But i don't think any of the other PCM releases were this good. It's hard to point your finger at the exact thing, but it's just a great experience overall. |

What makes you draw that conclusion? It may very well be so, but I've never seen anyone state such a thing, so when you just barge in and says "It's unplayable", I for one would like some background. |

i think it have something to do about the budget. i've seen some people complain about it being too little. and i have to agree, started a game with high road and rabobank to check out what budget they get and the 8mill i got wasnt really much. playable tho but not much room for waste |

I get your point!, and here is an explanation. Look at your remaining salary when starting a career. If you choose one of the big teams the remaining salary is ridicilously low, meaning when renewel of contracts approaches you cant renew a single contract hence all your riders leave. CSC you loose sastre, grady, voigt, kroon and 6-7 more the first season... unplayable |

Well, that would make it unplayable. However, I don't really get it. Take Voigt for example, let's say his salary (high as it may be) is x. If you offer the same ammount, the net budget increase will be 0 and should be fine, right? Is the problem that Voigt will demand a higher salary or are you simple not able to offer him even the same as he's got (x in this case).

You will only be able to offer him what your remaining salary is. You cannot give him X what he already gets... stupid (not you, but the game:lol |

That may be a bug, but it's very easy to fix with just editing your save game to increase your budget |

That would make the game unplayable, indeed. Sounds like a bug |

No bug at all. You simply want to spend something you don't have. Eyolfur explained it to us testers how it worked, and I got convinced. |

No bug at all!!!??? are you freaking kidding? So you say that its deliberate that all the major teams loose out on ½ their team due to them not being able to renew their contracts??!!
The economy should ofcourse include the netbudget in the factor as well. So that Voigt with his 70.000 could be renewed with 70.000... If your a tester and your convinced of the current structure then im not very impressed

Well, it's great if it is working correctly. However if you (and the other testers) needed an explanation, chances are that the generic user also will need one. |
