When you are playing in career mode, do you play every race or do you simulate some races/stages?

If I simulate are my riders results going to be decent, or will my team suffer by simulating?

i remember having trouble in the mountains after i switched from easy to hard and simming all the TDF mountain stages in my first season

Well, that is what I concluded but I was curious when I read a Stories thread and in the first race it was said it was simulated. So then I wondered how many people simulate some or all of their races in a season.
