I am playing as a Pro Cyclist. So far, I like the improvements, but I had a weird experience.
My goal was to lead the peloton for 20km. Immediately my leader said to me, that I had to protect him. I did just that, but got a bad evaluation for not fulfilling the other goal.
There was no way, that I could do both.
Is it intended or a bug? |

My personal opinion is, ignore your leader at all times.
It's intended that following his orders has no benefits besides the current race situation.

Agreed with Cio.
Listening to your leader doesn't give you +XP points after the race. So f8ck him And do your goals and try to finish as best as possible. |

I even wish there was the ability to turn off leader requests... In some situations he can spam you to death with his continual wishes for protection/ turning the screw/ whatever... |

I suspect around 150 riders currently riding the Tour De France would LOVE to have that feature turned off in real life too |

I pretty much ignore the leader too. Especially when he says turn the screw and it's all I can do to hang on to the back of the peloton! |

Yeah I found out pretty quickly that the leader requests are pretty much pointless. Especially early on when your really weak, and you get the lead a group for x KM. You really just want to do that straight away and early, because later you'll just never be able to get to the head and allowed to relay.
They also seem to miss really obvious things. I forget what stage race it was exactly, Catalunya maybe, but I was by now a fairly strong rider but designated as a teammate (which got swapped around by end of tour but still, I was gonna play nice.) Early break goes, leader says just chill. No-one else in my team is relaying. I check the break... and its contains Bardet and Roglic.
Ok, now they are probably not on good form but why on earth would you not chase that on day one. None of the other teams wanted to either.
I promptly ignored my leader, went to the front and pulled that back over the first 50k of the day. |
