Hi all,
I've been lurking around this site for almost a year now, and finally decided to make a profile.
Like many others, i've just bought the new PCM game and everything went flawless until i had to race my first race. The simulation part and management part ran really smooth, even better than last years edition. When the game finished loading cyclist textures etc, i was off for the race. Atleast i thought so. ALL my riders were just black dots, but everything else seemed to be in order. Rider names, health bars, commentator sound etc etc.
My hardware setup;
Asus A7N8X-deluxe motherboard
AMD Barton 3200+
2 GB Geil RAM
Asus GeForce4 TI4200
I realize that my problem is my GFX, which leads me to my real question;
Which GFX do i need to run PCM2008 at the minimum settings? I have a tight budget so im not really looking for any of the high-tech cards, but a card that can run this game and wont ruin my budget.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! |

The official minimum requirements as given by Cyanide:
Minimum requirements:
2.2Ghz processor, 1Gb RAM, 128Mb DirectX (Ver. 9.0c or better) which supports Shaders 2.0 (NVIDIA GeForce 5900 / ATI Radeon 9600 or better), 6Gb free space on hard drive, DVD-ROM drive, DirectX compatible sound card
People have been running it on a lot less though, I know that a Nvidia 7600GT will work perfectly fine and I got mine from PC World for about £60

I've got a 6600GT sitting on my desk unused...I have no one to sell it to.
If I didn't have to pay postage, I'd gladly give it to you.
If anyone near my area wants it, they can have it, BTW. but remember: it's used, so no warranty.

I currently have an ATI Radeon X300/550/1050 series video card. The game works OK and I have now boosted my Ram (from 1Gb to 3Gb) which has helped some.
However, my processor is an AMD Athlon 64 1.8Ghz. Is it worthwhile upgrading my video card or will the difference be negligible because of my processor? |

Why don't you just sell it on some kind of used-things-site?
