Personally, this started because I had the need for a 2017 DB for PCM 16 as I wanted to play a Bahrain Merida career on my personal YouTube channel. I soon realized how hard making a DB actually was and week by week, more people started helping in our community, PCMWorld. It is pretty much a cocktail of people of all communities, trying to unify the people playing the game a bit. With some luck and weeks of hard work, we were able to make our databases the most popular since our launch in 2016.
Our goal became to unite people that usually make their own database every year and make one actual good one instead of 20 partially good ones. Our team now includes a total of ~ 30 members that help out whenever they find that little bit of free time.
So what's so special about our database, the WorldDB?
- Real names for every rider, team and race in World Tour, Pro Continental Tour, Continental Tour and U23 niveau.
- Real shirts and accesoires for every team.
- Realistic attributes for every rider forced by weekly updates. Our attributes our made by the community as every member is allowed to discuss changes in our public Discord server.
- ~ 173 continental teams. (all UCI continental teams)
- ~ 14 U23 teams.
- ~ 500 new free riders from all countries.
- ~ 161 new races including national championships for most saturated countries.
- ~ 161 custom sponsors.
- ~ 2500 race variants.
- 2018 national champions instead of 2017.
What are we working on?
- Suggestions of players.
- Adding 500 more custom team sponsors.
- Adding free riders for all countries.
- Pro Cyclist Photo's for all riders.
- Rider attribute updates.

I was just wondering, if it's possible for you, to release the stage variants seperate? I got a interesting pro cyclist game going on the Daily database, and well, there isn't a lot of variants available, so it would be nice to have some new stages.

One year and its already historical ? Nairo Quintana had a weak tour put him down to an 78 ? Thats just hysterical and has nothing to do with a good and well balanced DB.
For example : One rider did badly at the tour goes down from an 81 to 78 on Hill , but wins the Vuelta you put him up to an 81 again ? Thats ridiculous
I never find a well balanced and fair DB. Nairo Quintana did horrible this year but to Downgrade him to an 80 just because he had one bad year ?

Just download the PCM Fast Editor and fix it yourself then

I have the WorldDB and I enjoy it really much, however what about the sonsors? they have fake names and jerseys with fake names as well. Is it possible to fix that somehow?
Qqutec, we're actually working on the sponsor regions at the moment with every new update. This is a db that will keep developing whenever someone has time, the benefit of a workshop database.

fbegbie, we don't actually have jerseys with fake names? not sure which jerseys you're talking about. About the 3D game bike sponsors, due to workshop restriction this is literally impossible, sadly.
marcoplv, no. There are stats voted by the public, just like I said above, you're welcome to join and suggest. Our attributes are based on the last 365 days, with a main focus on the current season (because that's what most people including the people working on it, like to play with). I don't like Thomas, but I have to deal with him being the best at this TDF with a climbing ability of 80+ now Unfortunately but it's the world we live in.
In the end, this DB is not just made by me. It's made by over 30 people spending their free time on this, so obviously lots of credits to them too.

Obviously we weren't going to fight over it lol. It's not that big of a deal. Stats are very opinionated thing and I ultimately respect yours fully.
About overruling, we actually don't. It all depends whether the larger amount of the community agrees or not. I had to lower Nibali a bit because of this, broke my heart. What we do is, we have some discussions about suggestions, but that's obviously necessary to bring up all the arguments, but if the good arguments are there, we can't deny them and for example, put a rider Thomas under 80 mountain because he hasn't performed before this TDF.
What we do sometimes is present the opposite of what a player says. For example if one suggests Van Avermaet to suddenly fly to 75 MO after beating Pauwels in Le Grand Bornard, we present stages where he did worse and show that he might not deserve it. Then the community starts discussing those and eventually we mostly find a middle ground that is perfect and works as realistic as possible.

About the DB itself: We're currently planning to add 20 more continental teams, fix the shirts of all national teams before the WC, better our U23 field stats. Next to that, we're optimizing sponsor regions and adding custom sponsors.
