A thread for strange AI behavior.
Please post here when you notice weird AI behaviour. Collecting it at one place makes it easier for Cyanide to solve and for us to send it to them in case it's needed.
Template:
- Is it in career mode/stage race mode/single stage mode?
- Could you attach a replay?
- In case you can, when does it happen in the replay (KMs remaining)?
- What happens there?

- No...
- It happened at 20km before the finish
- Sagan and Matthews attacked. A lot of riders are attacking in the whole race, which is nice. But Sagan and Matthews rather wait for the sprint. If it was Danny van Poppel to attack, I could agree...

Could be down to very high fighter stats or a supreme game AI that recognizes that they probably won't win the final sprint against riders with higher sprint but I'd say the former. Also were they in a a position to win the green jersey?

Pro Cyclist Career first season, Circuit des Ardennes International 2.2, Stage 4/4.
I'm 72AVG with 68MO and 69HIL, 15th in ranking with +2'12".
Rebellin and someone else attack on the last uphill (2km long, 10km far from arrive), I followed them and then counter-attack.
After the uphill i'm alone against two"Sovac-Natura4Ever": Rebellin and Reguigui (11th and 1st in GC).
They both tell me "It's not up to me to cooperate in this group", therefore i had to train them until the finish line, where I was 3rd (I'm not a great sprinter, so it's better take 3rd place rather than nothing).
The real cycling is that they are two and train me, or at least if I don't collaborate, they attack me, but they did nothing and yet they have won. |

Pro Cyclist Career, being a leader:
I hit the ground, but my teammates in the first group won't wait for me. They are domestiques and I'm the only Leader of the team. Unfortunately I don't have the option the let them wait as I can't control them any more when I'm not in the group.
A second problem is that sometimes teammates chase after you if you attack. This happens even if you are the leader and they are not leeders. |

When attacking in a tour on the second from last mountain, you drop the leader. But then nobody helps me (being number 3), not even the number 2 in GC. This is something which occurs all over the game. There is no help from AI in crucial moments. This messes up the game bigtime, was the same over the last few PCM's.
I would like to see some relaying, when its in the interest of the riders involved. |

This happened twice in consecutive stages of the Dauphine
In the 2nd year my rider is in 8th and given the team role of Leader Outsider, with the rest of the team two Team-mates and three Barodeurs
My team gets two riders in the break. About half-way through the stage they both run out of water, but neither ever collect water. Eventually the water bottle stops flashing and the icon goes blank. They both crack before the rest of the break, and on the first stage they both crash. |

What happened?
Note! I set all my riders to 'Automatic' during the race.
On stage 1 (a flat stage with only one hill) the peloton caught the breakaway with about 40 kms to go. Soon after, my riders starts relaying at the front - which is fine if they wanted to just control the pace and discourage any attacks - but they relay at what looks like maximum effort - which actually made it look like all my riders were attacking at the same time - completely draining the yellow and red bar in no time at all. I had to switch all my riders off Automatic to Keep position before they all killed themselves, but other teams seemed to take over, relaying at maximum effort. It was like they started the sprint train/fight for positions about 30 kilometers early and used up all their energy in a matter of minutes.
- What would you like to see/what do you think would be "real" cycling?
To not sprint and use up all their energy 35 kms from the finish line...
Edit: Btw, I'm using the RSM/PCMDaily database with the update.

Guys how to make ai better in the mountains? I was 2 minutes down after a shocking itt in Paris Nice, Bardet attacked on the col de turini i dotted 72 effort and we literally took 5 mins on the rest. Thomas who was in yellow stayed behind a ccc rider who was dying from like 6 kns untill 2 to go. So i win Paris Nice with Porte. I know that is a realistic win but not how it came, will i be able to win the Giro with Ciccione? As i really hope not i wanted to have a battle for lower end of top 10 |

To many riders attacking from the same team
In some races, the smaller teams ( Conti or Pro-conti ) are trying to get in the breakaway. But they don't try to get 1 or 2 riders in the fairly small breakaway ( <8 riders ), they have majority of their team attacking at the same time ( 4-6 riders ).
Ofcourse the other teams react and catch them back. After a brief period of resting, they do the same thing.
This goes on for like 100km until all the riders are dead and a 'normal' breakaway has formed.
I'd like to see those teams attack logical and only send a 1-2 riders in such a breakaway and not see their entire team attack in a row next to eachother |

A dead pixel is a picture element that stops lighting up, causing a persistent black dot on the screen. If you suspect you have one, but you aren't sure, investigate more closely with tools like the Dead Pixels Test or on white screen programs often display solid colors on the entire screen, allowing your eyes to more easily pick out pixels that aren't functioning properly.
