Advanced Editor - Local DB?

I've downloaded the editor and it works fine with the main DB (officialrelease.cdb), but it won't load local.db.
I'm trying to switch on 1 texture per cyclist and I believe this has to be done in the local rather than officialrelease.
From what I've seen mentioned, 1 texture can be made to work. Which tools work on the PCM08 local to let you do this? |

I've found that Hannes Editor 2008 can be used to open and update the local.cdb file. This means I can set the 1 texture per cyclist feature.
But, when I run the game, the 1 texture per cyclist is still not used. When I exit the game the local.cdb that i had updated is overwritten and the 1 texture per cyclist has been reset to zero.
I take it this is down to the released version of the game not recognising the 1 texture feature yet?
(I know that a patch is planned to re-introduce this feature. I guess I'll have to wait until that comes out) |

I take it as the fact Hannes Converter 2008 can't edit the local.cdb
Nothing at the moment can edit the local.cdb successfully

Yeah i did edit around with hannes converter in some tables of the local.cdb and wondered why i couldnt see any changes appearing in the game.
I also edited and played around (adding new injuries, staff, material, ...) in the officialrelease.cdb...i am not 100% sure but i think not all changes appeared in the game...i had the feeling that only certain tables did work.
...and in save game editing i experienced when the dyn_cyclist that Gesink is still 21 in year 2010 :S ...and other riders to young

I would never recommend adding lines to databases with Hannes Convertor. I would always advise people to use the Advanced Editor.

I've been able to succesfully open and edit Local.cdb with the kicker. I've enabled e.g. one texture per rider (making it work), and it's quite nice. So it is possible.

I guess me and Crue were just going off the fact Eyolfur said himself that it wasn't possible to open the Local.cdb with his convertor.
I guess he was mistaken.

No, it's still true that you can't edit the Local.cdb with the advanced editor, but what Mercury is saying is that he has used the Kicker (for PCM07) to edit it. |

Didn't know that worked with PCM08. I guessed he was referring to the advanced editor as a kicker, due them being pretty much exactly the same.

In some instances the kicker doesn't work with 08-databases. E.g. it crashes trying to export certain tables in the "big" db (OfficialRelease.cdb types). It also crashes when trying to import a certain table to Local.cdb - don't remember which one exactly. But it works with most tables.

Mercury, would you mind sharing your local.cdb with the 1 texture per cyclist enabled?
I've tried Kicker and though I can get at the data, when I load into access the number are not integer - like 1, 2, 3, etc. - but decimal - like 1.089....
And as I mentioned before, I can also get at the data with Hannes and change it but the changes don't appear to be recognised in game. |
