Team Ticos Air Costa Rica failed to register for the NCs, so their 8 riders miss out, leaving just three riders in the field.
Andrei Amador, the nation's strongest rider, has never become the RR NC - although he is naturally a regular winner of the time trial.
But Hugo Boss, a former Costa Rican team themselves, have Pablo Mudarra - who is on paper the best rider in the hills, which is the terrain today.
Gregory Brenes completed the field.
Mudarra sat back in the pack for much of the race though, and now as Amador and Brenes move clear, he is left behind.
We will have a duel but not the one we expected, Brenes taking the fight to Amador.
The UBS man has it all under control though, and finally the title is his!

For the time trial, Amador started last, and finished first. In both counts.
