The MGUCI has introduced a new rule wherein local amateurs are invited to participate in the National Championships of all countries along with the Professional riders. I will follow the exploits of the professionals as they attempt to win their country's National Championships.

Three amateurs form the break of the day.

The pack splits up in the second cobbled section. The lead group has 36 riders.

The break is caught with 23 km left. The lead group has further reduced to 18 riders with all professionals still there.

Potts attacks with 18 km to go. Downey is dropped from the pack.

Richardson, Dunne and Speirs form the second group on the road with 10 km remaining. They trail Potts by more than a minute.

Richardson is dropped from E2 with 7 km left.

At the front, Potts takes an easy win. Dunne drops Speirs in he run-in to take 2nd.
