I recently purchased PMC17 for almost no monye. I have been a huge fan of PCM13 (except for the bugs/crashes).
Now, I must also say that I have not read if this stated somewhere else, so should you guys feel the need for not responding, then please redirect me to the thread.
I have been playing in game on the new one and I found difficulties controlling my riders. They all start with the option of automatic, but in 2013 you could just set it to 70 procent and "stay at your position". You can not do that here. If I set it to 70 procent and "stay at your position" the rider just fall to the back if the pace is increased. If I increase the procentage to 80-90, they just loose power and are unable to follow Riders on the hill/mounain climb.
Now, is there a way that you guys can help me and tell me what is the best possible way to control a rider in the race? I am talking about Mountains, hills and coble races.
Fundamentally, nothing has changed. Just keep on playing and you'll get the hang of it.
Maybe you should start with the new mode, the Pro Cyclist career, where you only control one rider and the rest of your team is managed by the AI. It's fun, your young rider improves quickly and I'm sure you'll be very successful soon.

Thank you for your reply! I got more and more hang of it, yes! Only part I find a bit more tough is the mountain climbing. My riders die of energy so quick if I attack and if I just set the tempo, the AI is jus too good and just race me to the finish line and win, I am talking about having the same set of skills (81-82 mountain). So frustrating from time to time. I have to figure out that part. Other than that, I have won some coble races and some sprints here and there.
Mountain is a a break in the neck, but hopefully I will crack that. Let me know what your strategy in Mountain is though :-)
Sorry, I don't have many specific tips, it depends on mode, stage, competition, daily form, etc. In stage races you'll lose time and gain time, maybe attack late on a hilly stage. Maybe learn how quickly the yellow bar empties depending on the slope and effort, riding at your own pace can pay off and you catch the others again, experiment a bit.
