Preview:
Favorite team to win the National is Jayco - Cobra9, with 5 riders amongst the top 10 favorites. Even though the bookmakers see Ayubowan!’s Jay McCarthy as top favorite it is hard not to belive in Jayco’s Jack Bobridge
Also Compal-Merida’s Travis Meyer and Grieg–Eftel’s Calvin Watson clearly amongst those looking for a medal in the National RR.
The Race:
It is fine weather and the pace in the peloton is quite hard not allowing anyone to get away before the first hill climb is over and then we see just a single rider form the amateur level allowed to go.
Jayco - Cobra9 leads the peloton all day never letting the gap get dangerous.
10 km left and the breakaway is over, the fight for position begins.
It is Bobridge in front of McCarthy, Porte, O'Shea, Meyer and Watson entering the climb.
2.3 km to the top attack by McCarthy, Bobridge and Haas immediately close up.
Bobridge first under the red kite, but McCarthy at wheel and also Haas in the group.
Behind we see Meyer and Watson but it seem like it will be between the trio.
Bobridge wins the sprint for the Australian National RR Championship.
Welcome back to the Australian National Championships, now the ITT. 53 MGUCI riders are ready to compete, but as we all know won’t often get a surprise against the clock, realistically only 10-12 rider has a shot at the podium.

Again favorite team to take this one is clearly Jayco - Cobra9 not only with the top bookmaker favorite Luke Durbridge, but also with other good shots in the Michael Hepburn, Miles Olman, Jack Bobridge the list goes on.
But this race is not set in concrete, as we also got eBuddy’s Damien Howson, Novatek’s Michael Ford and also CT team cycleYorkshire’s Rohan Dennis might dream of the National Jersey if he can get perfect legs.
The Race:
First to race todays ITT, is Richie Porte a good time trialist, he is hit by a light shower on the route, we did expect some showers today, 1h12'12” with the conditions today may just be ok.
Right behind him teammate Alex Wohler setting best sector times he must have perfect form, new best 1h12’08”
His time in the throne will be short though we are seeing a very fast sector times behind him, amongst them Michael Hepburn, coming in at 1h10’04” cutting more than 2 minutes of the best time.
More surprising though is that Jack Haig is out there setting even better sector times, is it likely that conditions has simply changes to the better? Otherwise Haig must have a unique day, 1h09’26”stunning 37” faster than Michael Hepburn.
Bobridge 3rd +1’18”
Rohan Dennis next, also with new best in all three sectors and, he has done it new best 1h08”47, 38” faster than Jack Haig, this could very well be the time to take at least a medal here, surely a strong ride from him.
Olman 3rd +49”
Dempster 4th +50”
Howson 2nd +4”
Then we got top favorite Luke Durbridge, best time on all sectors and coming in at 1h07’57”, 50” fasters than Rohan Dennis.
Last rider left on the road is Michael Ford, lost 4” in first sector, 11” in second sector and closing in at 3rd sector just 8” after.
But no, he doesn’t take gold losing 12” passing the line and thereby Luke Durbridge wins the Australian National ITT Championship.
