Cameron Meyer leads the GC after his stage win on the first stage. However, the real battle for the GC will be fought on this second and final stage of the race.

Right after the start, we have a big crash involving some bigger names!

Not the ideal start for some of the race favourites on this decisive stage.

The break of the day is formed by seven riders. They are pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/kmm.png Walsleben, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fab.png Shapira, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/hrm.png Er Rafai, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/gre.png Vassdal, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Vilela, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/eus.png Prades and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/npn.png Sinelobov.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%202.jpg

The good news is that they all the crashed riders have rejoined the peloton with 80 kilometers to go. It remains to be seen whether there will be lasting effects of this though.

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fab.png Shapira wins the first intermediate KOM sprint. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/npn.png Sinelobov and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/eus.png Prades are the others picking up points.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%203.jpg

Already at the 45 km to go mark. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/gre.png Vassdal has been caught by the pack.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%204.jpg

The break is caught entirely with 36 km remaining.

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Eritel have taken over the pace-making, not allowing anyone to think about attacking out of such a fast peloton.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%205.jpg

GC leader pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/red.png Meyer is dropped along with most of the top sprinters with 22 km to go.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%206.jpg

The peloton are starting the Cat. 1 climb with 125 riders. 15 km remaining.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%207.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane doesn't wait very long as he attacks just a kilometer later. He does not wish to let the good work done by his team go to waste. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ora.png Nairo Quintana and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/hrc.png Valls try to follow.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%208.jpg

12 km. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane has 20" to the pack. The other two are back in the bunch.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%209.jpg

The pack has started to go to pieces as we now approach the 10 kilometer banner. The situation is as follows:

E1 -> pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane
E2 -> pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/frs.png Henao Montoya, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ora.png Nairo Quintana, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/kmm.png Kiserlovski, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/hrc.png Valls
E3 -> pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Denifl, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/iso.png Brajkovic, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Shikai, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Nazaret, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ino.png Intxausti, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Marquez,
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Pomoshnikov, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/tic.png Barguil, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ubs.png Amador, + 15

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/npn.png Duarte is a big name missing from this group.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2010.jpg

8 km to go. The first two groups remain the same. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane's lead to E2 has increased to 1'15".

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2012.jpg

E3 from before has split up and now has pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Denifl, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/iso.png Brajkovic, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Shikai, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Nazaret, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bcp.png Karnulin, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ino.png Intxausti, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/frs.png Kolesnikov, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/tic.png Barguil, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/0r8.png Anton and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ino.png Signorini.

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Marquez, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ubs.png Amador and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mol.png Pomoshnikov are the big names dropped from E3. Looks like Amador's crash from yesterday and other two's crash today are catching up to them.

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/0r8.png Anton and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ino.png Signorini are dropped from the pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Denifl group with 7 km left.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2013.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ino.png Intxausti and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/frs.png Kolesnikov are the next to be distanced a kilometer later. The pre-race favourite is not enjoying himself at the moment!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2014.jpg

The situation now is:

E1 -> pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane
E2 (1'40" ) -> pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/hrc.png Valls, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/kmm.png Kiserlovski, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/frs.png Henao, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ora.png Quintana
E3 (2'6" ) -> pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Shikai, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Denifl, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Nazaret, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/tic.png Barguil, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/iso.png Brajkovic, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bcp.png Karnulin

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane has held his lead to 1'42" with just 2 km left. It doesn't look like he will be caught by the next group.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2015.jpg

Speaking of the next group, they now have the pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Denifl group closing in on them! Just 18" the difference in the battle for second place.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2016.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane goes past the kilometer marker and he has started taking it easy.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2017.jpg

There's 1.5 km to go for the next two groups. Their gap is remaining steady.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2018.jpg

It's a lonely ride for pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ino.png Intxausti and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/frs.png Kolskinov up the mountain in E4.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2019.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane celebrates early...

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2020.jpg

... and now goes past the line to take the stage and GC win!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2021.jpg

Not a lot of urgency from the next two groups as they enter the final kilometer. Perhaps they're saving up energy for the uphill sprint.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2022.jpg

As if on cue, the sprint starts inside the final 500 meters.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2023.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bcp.png Karnulin is being distanced in the pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Denifl group. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/kmm.png Kiserlovski looks to be in the best position up ahead.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2024.jpg

But wait! pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/hrc.png Valls comes past pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/kmm.png Kiserlovski into 2nd.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2025.jpg

And holds the position till the line. Great result for pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/hrc.png Valls to finish 2nd. Taking the long way round really hurt pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/kmm.png Kiserlovski here who has to settle for 3rd. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/frs.png Henao distances pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ora.png Quintana to take 4th, with the latter 5th.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2026.jpg

In the next group, it's a near photo-finish as pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/tic.png Barguil edges out pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/iso.png Brajkovic for 6th. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Nazaret follow them home in 8th. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Shikai and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Denifl complete the top 10.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2027.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bcp.png Karnulin is 11th.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2028.jpg

The rest of the riders have been picked up by the pack. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/frs.png Kolesnikov leads them home in 12th.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2029.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bcp.png Destribois, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fab.png Poljanski and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ino.png Intxausti complete the top 15.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2030.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane is today's winner...

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2031.jpg

...and also takes the GC.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C1/East Java/TEJS2%2032.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/hrc.png Valls takes hugely important points in his team's fight for promotion and secures his individual CT title. The rest of the top 10 was dominated by PCT captains, most of whose teams are still in the promotion fight. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/red.png Meyer share the Points Jersey win while pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Berhane also takes the KOM win. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Shikai is the best of the U25s with pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/frs.png Ferrero picking up the Team standings win.
