I have read, that it is possible to change the potential of my pro cyclist by using the DB-Editor without deleting my savegame. However, i dont know how to do it. I need help to find, save and open the right file, so that i can continue my savegame.
documents/pcm17/cloud/user/savegames or something. Open the DB with the name of the career with the editor, go to dyn_cyclist and find your cyclist. Edit the DB column for potential and then save it. make a backup of the files just in case.
I've never done it on pcm17 so could be wrong

Friendly reminder that changing a cyclist's potential after starting a career has no effect on the stat limits, and if I'm not mistaken, not even on progression speed. After creating a save game, the value is purely cosmetical.
So if this move is intended to increase the maximum possible stats for your rider, you will need to spoil yourself and look at the columns "limit_i_(insert stat name)" and change those values.
This will take a lot of fun out of developing because you manually decide exactly which final stats your rider can achieve, so it is only advised to even take a look at the initial values in these columns in case you are absolutely sure that your rider won't reach a satisfying value in one or several stats.

Okay i found the cyclist i want to change, but how can i save it? Should i save it as an "XML-file" or do i need to "create the CDB database"? - if i try to save it as an XML, nothing happens in my game, and if i try to create the CDB database, i get an
error message from "Microsoft.NET Framework" saying that the object reference is not adjusted correctly.. :/

I wanna do this for two reasons. 1 - i want to change the name of the cyclist ( I have by mistake switched the first and last name around) and 2 - I want to change the potential or maybe the stat of the cyclist, so that he is a little bit better. I dont care about looking at the potential levels, its okay. I just wanna change something in the DB edior, but im not very familiar with the editor
