With Herklotz not having made any gains in the GC on the last stage, Gesink is the overwhelming favourite to seal his GC win on this stage, with his TT prowess. In fact, he is among the top favourites for this stage too. An interesting battle is ongoing for the final podium position between Adam Yates and Keinath. Kittel is the favourite to win the stage, with Viennet likely to be the former's and Gesink's biggest competitor.

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/jay.png Olman is the first to start and he has good TT skills. He goes through the first intermediate at 21'50". At the finish, his time is 44'20".

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%202.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Balloni is 2nd at the first intermediate, 12" down. He finishes 20" down, in 2nd place at the moment.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%203.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/vsa.png Kittel lives up to his billing. He takes the lead with a time of 42'49" at the finish. That's 91" faster than Olman!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%204.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/jay.png Wohler is currently 3rd at 1'48".

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%205.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ora.png Viennet loses 17" at the first time check. Can he make that up?

The answer is no. 2nd for him, 25" slower.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%206.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/pnd.png Downey finishes in 4th place, 1'44" down on the leader.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%207.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/nem.png Kochetkov takes pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/pnd.png Downey's position away. He is 13" faster.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%208.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/min.png Barton with a very good run to go 3rd, 1'16" down. Our cameras missed him unfortunately.

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/vsa.png Jungels now 3rd, 35" off his teammate's time to beat so far.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%209.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mol.png Fejes goes 5th with a 1'29" deficit.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2010.jpg

There is a long break before any rider makes a mark near the top of the leader board.

And surprisingly, that rider is pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/nvo.png Domagalski, who goes 2nd fastest, just 5" off Kittel!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2011.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/jay.png Canty goes 5th at 59".

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2012.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/min.png Martinez stops the clock 56" down to move into 6th.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2013.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/min.png Haga with the new best time! 42'34". What a ride!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2014.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/nem.png Kononenko is 8th, 1'24" down.

Reis (Porto - Prio) posts the exact same time!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2018.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/gzl.png Kangert does extremely well to go 4th. 24" is the loss for him.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2019.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/gzl.png Bibby and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/akm.png Beltran come to the line together, with the latter having been caught and dropped by the later starting former! pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/gzl.png Bibby goes 5th, losing 33" while pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/akm.png Beltran loses 2'55".

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2020.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ora.png Nairo Quintana loses 2'1".

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/nem.png Nepomnyachsniy breaks into the top 10 for the moment. He is down by 55".

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2021.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/cpl.png Choi loses 1'1".

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/vsa.png Keinath had gone through the first intermediate in 4th place needing to make up 28". He improves to 3rd at the end, 15" slower than the fastest time.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2022.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ayu.png A. Yates loses 1'25" and his GC position to pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/vsa.png Keinath.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2023.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ebd.png Gesink catches pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/pum.png Herklotz with 1 km to go. That's the GC decided then!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2024.jpg

And pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ebd.png Gesink blitzes the old best time, stopping the clock at 41'54"! He will win this and the GC with authority, barring catastrophe on the last stage.

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/pum.png Herklotz loses 2'2".

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2025.jpg

Today's winner - pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ebd.png Robert Gesink.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Portugal/TDPS10%2026.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ebd.png Gesink convincingly extends his lead at the top of the GC. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/vsa.png Keinath climbs back onto the provisional podium. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/gzl.png Bibby and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/gzl.png Kangert move up. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ora.png Quintana and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/akm.png Beltran move down. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ebd.png Gesink also increases his lead in the Points standings.
