Last day in Down Under and we have a 83km criterium in Adelaide. Mohs vs. Cavendish vs. Goss?
Any other sprinter or breakaway?
Seeing a 12 rider break, later might have high chances. In especially as some of the sprinter teams such as Fablok are in there.
Schachmann
Zaraliev
Vliegen
O'Connor
Usandizaga
Boaro
Maccagli
Michely
Zielinski
Joeaar
Arifin
Lindau
Podium Ambition easily the team being the most annoyed by such group and hence 5 riders working for their sprinter Nelson.
Behind also 3 from Euskaltel and some Kraftwerk helping rarely as well.
Isostar should have high interest due to GC improvement but not working yet.
Small crash at the end of the peloton with Kupfernagel being the biggest name. Wonder if he can come back finding his 2015 form after a rather weak 2016.
Tarvis
Doull
Höög
Barbin
are the others.
Not a lot happens and with 5km to go the gap is still there. They are in sight now but not caught yet.
Time for time trialist Boaro to play his card as he attacks.
Michely quickly went into his slipstream just like TdU specialist Zielinski, who is the fastest of the group on paper.
Both pass Boaro quickly now as the sprint is about to start.
Flamme Rouge and still couple of meters for the sprinters. Not organized at all Kraftwerk for Cavendish at least with some men but they need to hurry up now.
Boaro is done. Michely still in front with 700m to go while Zielinski and Schachmann are the ones following next.
But the gap was enough. Big win for MOL with Michely celebrating on the line.
Schachmann 2nd in the end just ahead of the flying sprinters with Cavendish going for small honor as 3rd ahead of another MOL rider in Vanoverschelde with Zielinski in 5th still.
No changes in the other competitions and hence Schreurs is the 2017 TdU winner and starts the season nicely for promotion favourite Orange. Froome and Di Maggio next.
