So I was going to buy 2017 on steam, but the reviews are horrendous. People saying it's unplayable, crashing,bugs etc. Sounds horrific.
So I check on here given this is the pcm community, and people are enjoying it, it's voted as the best one so far in a poll etc.
So bottom line is I'm confused as to whether the game is awful or not. Don't fancy buying it to find it crashing constantly, game breaking bugs ruining the game.
When you talk about game crashes then this has by FAR been the best PCM for me, think it has crashed 1 time for me. But buy it on Steam and if you dont like it/have problems or whatever refund it...

What's the actual deal with it?
Some people rate the game on its potential, but they forget that we will probably not see another patch for the game. It has great ideas and it is fun at times, but it is also horribly bugged in some places.
Okay cool, well I will most likely wait until,more patches have been released before purchasing the game. Maybe watch some YouTube videos of people playing. Thanks for the responses so far!
I don't know what other think about the game and i honestly don't take all the bad reviews seriously. What i though can say is that ive played PCM since Jalebert was on the cover and PCM 2017 is def. one of the best versions so far. All in all if you are a big fan of cycling you'll love this game.

Yeah I think this is one of the best versions too. Im really enjoying career mode with FDJ now and is in season 3(2019). I just think the gameplay is great, AI is pretty good(not perfect, but still pretty good and no games ever has perfect AI...)
And to me, there have not been many bugs and game has only crashed once. So the bugs I have had has been few and small, but ofc I know other people have had more problem with that, feel like speccially in be a pro? But also... What PCM game ever has been released without bugs and issues, speccially game crashing has been a huge problem in other games
Just things as possible to follow your own teammates when ever you want make the game so much better. Both on mountain stages and also races as Milano San Remo makes gameplay so much better and realistic. Maybe speccially SanRemo since you can acctually controll your team and not get blocked all the time on the more narrow roads as previous games

Graphic-wise PCM17 is a lot better in comparison with earlier versions, especially the color schema seems improved to me. Gameplay has improved a lot as well, especially the fact that you can prepare a lot better for peak and rest moments.
On the other hand there has been a lot of bugs - even game breaking ones. They only recently fixed one where the game crashed when you encountered the World Championship TT. And there is still a lot of awkward stuff, like climbers winning flat sprints against Kittel and such. Not sure if that has been fixed already. Or how everyone in the breakaway sprints to get the mountain points, no matter whether they compete for the jersey or not.
Then again, PCM always has a lot of bugs when it gets released, but usually after a month they have fixed most of the critical ones.
