Equipment page becomes obsolete in 2nd season

I remember this in earlier versions as well. It says I have full access to R&D with wheels and frame, yet I never get a prompt to test anything.

I get no options on the equipment page, I just get a rating for the wheels and frames, which are all pretty shit btw. (mediocre to poor feeling for everything)

Also, the "feeling" and such of each frame and wheel stays the same the entire time.

Does equipment have an actual impact on the race?
Does anyone else find that this happens in the 2nd season of career? First season worked fine, I could test new designs and such..

I am using the PCM Daily Lite Pack.

I feel like it doesn't affect your race at all but I'm not 100% sure.

I liked it more when every frame/helmet/wheel etc was 5 star everything, meant you could just choose based on how it looked. And there was a set of equipment for yellow jersey, polka dot, green etc.. Hope that's back in the Expansion Pack.
