Equipment page becomes obsolete in 2nd season

I get no options on the equipment page, I just get a rating for the wheels and frames, which are all pretty shit btw. (mediocre to poor feeling for everything) Also, the "feeling" and such of each frame and wheel stays the same the entire time. Does equipment have an actual impact on the race? Does anyone else find that this happens in the 2nd season of career? First season worked fine, I could test new designs and such.. I am using the PCM Daily Lite Pack.

I liked it more when every frame/helmet/wheel etc was 5 star everything, meant you could just choose based on how it looked. And there was a set of equipment for yellow jersey, polka dot, green etc.. Hope that's back in the Expansion Pack.
