During Grand Tours how do you get other GC favourites to work with you?

I have recently tried the Giro with Sunweb ( lost to Nibali by 3 seconds but that is another story). The issue I have is whenever I make a mountain attack that splits the favourites apart no one wants to work with me. Unless I drag them along they will go at a snails pace until the other favourites catch up with our group.

Do you have any tips?

Same thing as every year. If other favorites go and you don't follow you'll notice they won't really work together eather, just attack/stop, attack/stop until they all ride their own pace to the top.

It's unfortunately not really good AI there. You would want them to work together in some cases, like real life, work together to put an opponent behind, and then some of them not working because they are at their limit. It depends.

What I usually do is attack and then ride own pace I can hold to the top.
