Wilkommen! Today we have the national championships of Germany, one of the major cycling nations. 53 riders will take part on the 64km Flat course. So there's every chance of a sprint, especially with big dedicated teams like Pokerstars, Puma and Karcher. But we've seen breakaways still hang on in such a race....
Well we get an early indication. The attacks come thick and fast, but Pokerstars are immediately onto all of them and shut everything down. As such the pace is high, barely dropping below 50km/h!
This pattern persists for most of the race, with Pokerstars committing resources to holding the pack as one. Clearly they feel they've got the best chance in a sprint, and i wouldn't argue with that.
Reimer(SPY) attacks with 15km to go, and he managers to just snap the elastic. It's a small gap, but a sign Pokerstars might be losing the fire power.... Luckily Karcher offer some support or it could have been all over!
With 5km to go Reimer conceeds and is swallowed back into the pack
3km to go and it's going to be a sprint! Janorschke leads Kluge for Pokerstars, but they've gapped Mohs slightly whilst Degenkolb is nowhere close to them.
Barth, Reinhardt, Keiger and Haussler are also towards the front working hard to cover the acceleration of Pokerstars.
2km to go and Mohs blasts everyone! The Pokerstars rider fires his sprint very early. No-one can react and Mohs is moving away fast! Kreiger is the only rider to be quick enough to move as well, but he can't bridge the gap.
1000m! Under the Kite and Mohs still leads. But that's Degenkolb flying up the middle at Warp speed. Kreiger is up there but struggling, whilst we also see Ciolek trying to get on terms with Degenkolb.
It's a sprint, but a damn messy one.
John Degenkolb! He wins it and looks comfortable doing so! Ciolek follows him for 2nd, whilst Kupfernagel came from nowhere to take 3rd. Mohs and Kreiger hang on for 4th and 5th.
Pokerstars dominated the race, showing that a proper team can really control an NC and deliver the result!

The ITT was a lot less exciting than the open road race...
Jacob Fiedler claiming a comfortable win, as was expected. The TT specialist was always going to win unless something catastrophic happened.
