Danish National Championships

Welcome to the National Championship of Denmark! 28 riders taking on the 47km Mountain route.

We do get the immediate attack as expected. Mygind(CDB) and Kvist(SPY) form the breakaway.

But neither are particularly noteworthy climbers so whilst the gap grows, it's only slowly.
And it's enticing enough that with 20km to race we have a counter move! Sterobo(GRE) and Jensen(RBC) attack the peloton and go to hunt the leading duo.

8km to go and we have a leading quartet!

4km to go and the road is ramping towards the line. Kvist, despite being the best sprinter of the group, attacks! Mygind follows... nothing from Sterobo or Jensen, the chase took its toll.

Kvist wins! He out sprints Mygind to the line for a surprise, but well earned NC victory. Sterobo and Jensen are just a few seconds behind, but it might as well be an eternity.

ITT time! Quaade vs Sterobo. The Battle of the Rasmus....

Quaade is the first of the two on the road. He goes well clear of the earlier times, settin down the marker for Sterobo to follow...

And Sterobo responds. He's ahead by 1" at check one. Holds steady 1" ahead at check two... it's going to be tight but Sterobo looks in control...

No! Quaade wins the ITT! He finished strong and beats Sterobo by 1" in return. Awesome finish.
