A shorter stage today at 153.6km, but one that could have a big impact on the GC. The favourites today are all GC riders except from the two strong puncheurs in the race (who canâ€™t be ruled out as contenders for the overall) in Tanovitchii and Mohoric.

It took some time, but we managed eventually to get a breakaway of 4 riders today. Politt, Baska, Sanogo and Yzeiraj would be the lucky names today. Sanogo would win the intermediate sprint with 76km to go ahead of Baska and Yzeiraj.

Baska would lead over the Cat 3 with 49.5km to go, just ahead of Sanogo. Politt was clinging on while Yzeiraj looked to have been dropped - the gap to the peloton at this point a solid 3 minutes.

The peloton would lay down a fast pace lead by Sauber - working for Kung - and with 17km to go, 1km from the summit of the penultimate Cat 4 the gap to the break was down to only 1â€™30. But thenâ€¦

Crash in the peloton! Some big names down as well! Most notable names involved are Kudus, Kung and Ndayisenga, and with only 16km to go and a deficit of over a minute to the other favourites, time loss looks likely for them.

Up front and Mohoric has attacked, hanging just off the front of the peloton - if you can call it that, with only 31 riders still up there. Baska lead over the climb, and he seems to be setting off solo now (around 1â€™30 ahead of the peloton) while Enger is hanging on impressively in the main group.

Mohoric is super strong today, and with 8km to go he bridges to the duo up front of Baska and Yzeiraj. Politt and Sanogo are about to be absorbed into a group of 12 favourites, around 1â€™30 back - Potocki, Tanovitchii, De Vos, Owen, Ghani, Andersen, Herklotz, Enger, Vasyliv, Cataford, Klepikov and Ludvigsson are the riders present - while 30 seconds further back are names such as Carthy, Heymes, Rybalkin, De Leon and Shirota. Kudus and co are a minute behind that group, a devastating day for them.

As we pass over the Cat 4 with 5km to go, Mohoric is finally free. He has 30 seconds to Yzeiraj and Baska, and 1 minute to a group of ten - Potocki, Herklotz, Vasyliv, De Vos, Tanovitchii, Owen, Ludvigsson, Andersen and Enger. Carthy is at 1â€™40, Heymes, Kudus, Shirota and Ndayisenga at 2â€™25 and Kung at 2â€™50.

At the foot of the Mur de Huy, Mohoric leads by 1â€™10 - surely he has this in the bag. The front group has been whittled down, with Enger finally losing contact after a brave day from him - only Potocki, Tanovitchii, Herklotz, Vasyliv, De Vos, Ludvigsson and Cataford remain in contact. All the other notable names are at 2â€™35 now, seeking to simply limit the damage.

Indeed, Mohoric takes it the win on the Mur and with it the GC lead - a dominant performance from him!

Tanovitchii is a strong second place, ahead of Ludvigsson - theyâ€™ll be hoping to see gaps awarded in the closing stages, and indeed they are - finishing at 43 seconds and 1â€™04 respectively.

Herklotz leads Vasyliv over the line for 4th (at 1â€™18 and 1â€™23 respectively), with Cataford, De Vos and a recovering Enger rounding out the top 8 (at 1â€™34). Potocki is further down in 9th (at 2â€™07), and here comes group Kudus, whatâ€™s the gap?

Itâ€™s a big group that comes in together, but gaps form in the sprint - and in the end Kudus loses 3â€™02 today. Kung loses 2â€™51, Ndayisenga is at 3â€™27 and Heymes is at 4â€™40.
