Tactics when in a breakaway with 2 riders

Hey!

I was wondering, what tactics you guys use when you are in a breakaway with 2 of your own riders and you want 1 of them to win.

- You put 1 rider in front of the breakaway group and let the one you want to win the stage with just go with the group?

- Or you use the 2nd rider to protect your rider?


A few days ago I had a breakaway, only with 2 riders of my own and I figured what to do. I put my main rider on effort 70 and used the other to protect him but that didn't work out. So after that I used the second rider in front of the group, effort 70 and just let my good guy follow him. This seemed to be a better tactic but I'm not sure. Any of you guys got an opinion on this? Smile

First make sure that the riders you want in the break go as soon as possible.
Then while other break members are very fast in the begining just stay on their wheel.
When they slow down put the one you do not want to win working normally with them.
If they stop working put both of yours and they will start again.
This is the basic strategy for the begining of the stage, after this it can go a LOT of ways. For flat stages this is the ideal strategy but then it all comes to the quality of the riders in the break and the luck. Hilly and Mountain stages what matters the most really is the quality of the riders so you should choose carefully.

Yes, thanks for the tips! I'm trying to do that.
Also going to experiment with other tactics.

For now, I noticed that the AI doens't let me go in a break with more then 1 rider Smile
