Welcome to the 3rd stage of this years Euskal Bizikleta and welcome to another day here in Spain. Today we have an hilly course on the menu and on paper it doesn't look so frightening. However fact remains that todays hilly course consist of a very hard climb throughout the day, where the percentages reach the higher end. It's time for the favorites to claim their spot on the top of the podium after today!

There is no excitement other than to see who gets caught in a mandatory crash and down on the tarmac we see Rojas Gil and Bonnet down on the road. Uugunbayar disbands after getting involved in the crash, but the other riders don't seem too hurt

At the front of the pack Kraftwerk tries to keep the break at a 2Â½ minute gap, they don't want them to get away. It might be smart to do so, as we are only here for 4 days. That limits the tactics to only one thing, defend and attack!

With 49 km left of the stage, the break looks to be over already. There only remain the 2 big hills just before finish. However the sprinters are already falling down behind. It does seem the favorites are beginning to order the pace for the rest of the stage. Only Schurter seems to be out front alone

Nardin goes out for the attack, clearly being their only hope of a GC result. Schurter is 40 seconds up the road, while Nardin got 30 seconds to the pack

With 34 km left the stage is reset by the now 67 man pack and the final two climbs outside Ordzia is about to come

Carlsberg is with Veilleux at the front as the pack with 19 km enter the two big hilly climbs of the day. They seem eager to set the pace in this important part of the race and every bit of energy is needed if you want to outrace equal and strong opponents.

Mygind and Veilleux is setting a high pace up the first of the two climbs. The high percentages will have to wait for the next one, but clearly Carlsberg wants a bigger selection now!

De Maar sets out for the attack on the 2 km climb. The percantage are up at 11 %, so this is where the winner is set! Who will attack alongside him?

Dowsett sets after De Maar, while Barbin looks also to want to join. Klemme is down in the middle of the pack and cannot answer just yet. It seems that the german has been sleeping throughout this important stage of the race!

Klemme was in a bad position going into the climb and finally snaps out and goes for the follow up on the descent! 40 seconds still separate them!

De Maar goes under the Flamme Rouge for the stage win, closely followed by Michely and the 2 others! Klemme and Veilleux has created a 10 seconds gap to the now 15 man favorite group in pursuit a minute down of the front!

A lot of the GC hopes have fallen down the order, but right now we must focus on the stage!

Marc De Maar takes the stage and the GC of this race! For the podium comes in Michely and Barbin before Dowsett has to please himself for 4th!

Veilleux comes in for 5th ahead of Klemme, the duo comes in 20 seconds ahead of the favorite group!
