So, I was looking through a lot of stages in 2.HC races earlier today and I noticed that the stages for the Tour of Hainan are just copied from other races with starts and finishes just renamed by Cyanide to reflect the real race (also the intermediate sprints are named Flat sprint and KoMs named Mountain sprint), so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make the real life version of this year's race, to improve the gameplay experience in game. I've found the stage itineraries, profiles, maps and last 3km maps on the official Tour of Hainan website and have attached a link to said website below, in English: https://www.tourof...n/saiduan/
I can't express how much I want these stages to be made because if they aren't, we'll always have a 2.HC race with fake stages, and although, I don't mind them in 1.1/2.1/1.2/2.2 and u23 races, I think these are 3rd tier events that we should have proper stages for.
Thanks for reading this rant/request and I hope you have a good day,
Martii.
The problem of Hainan is that there are no DEM files present, which means that the terrain has to be generated from scratch/heightmap, making the stagemaking process much more complicated, and using a gpx file in the editor isn't possible either. This is the reason why stagemakers don't want to commit themselves to a race like this. Some stages have been made using heightmaps, but these all took place on a circuit rather than the normal route-to stage and so these heightmaps were much easier to make.
Ok, I understand that perfectly well, its just a shame that because of the lack of DEM files, a race that has a couple of quite good winners, Moreno Hofland and Sacha Modolo for example and seems to have a decent startlist for this year. If I were a good stagemaker (which I'm not at all), I would probably do this myself, but it would be full of flaws. Thanks for the response anyway,
1.2 races and 2.2 races with realistic parcours are a must for me, because I mostly play with a Continental Team, please don't let them behind in future, you are all doing GREAT work, thanks, stagemakers!
1.1 Halle-Ingooigem needs an update, it is now totally unrealistic, the parcours does not reflect the real race at all, last year's version was quite good.
Also pains in my eyes: Brabantse Pijl, Scheldeprijs, GP Jef Scherens and Circuit de Wallonie.
And need update as the stages are the same as far as I can remember: Belgium Tour, Tour de Wallonie, Tryptique de Monts et Châteaux,
