Tour de Romandie - Stage 2
jandal7
i.imgur.com/cVV23Te.jpg

A sprint stage today - a weaker field, perhaps, than some races but a competitive and high-quality one all the same. There's one KoM point to decide who gets a day in that jersey too. Only one other sprinter (pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vtb.png Aregger) doubles as a good prologue rider and so we should see pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mei.png Kuboki in his yellow and green jersey again tomorrow.

i.imgur.com/afiKdUq.jpg

No concrete break formed by the first sprint point so pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mei.png Kuboki, not a bad sprinter himself, solidifies his lead in both the overall and points standings.

i.imgur.com/tHzb1BQ.jpg

You're telling me I get free cash and a free jersey if I cross that line before him?

Nobody seems to feel like a breakaway so pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/avc.png Becerra will wear the KoM jersey tomorrow after nobody sprinted for the points.

i.imgur.com/EIEykpt.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/avc.png Granjel Cabrera is pushed all the way to the line by pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mei.png Kuboki but claims the second sprint, whilst Kuboki gets a bigger lead in both standings again.

i.imgur.com/Lmfb550.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Banc na hÉireann and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/avc.png Aeropostal still the teams on the front - 18km to go and it will almost certianly be a bunch sprint.

i.imgur.com/sSEQhs0.jpg

I count 7 riders out of the 8 on this pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Banc na hÉireann team on the front for pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Bennett with 6km to go.

i.imgur.com/sexuQzP.jpg

4km to go in the lovely city of Neuchâtel and all anyone can do is hold onto pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Bennett's wheel - the likes of pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/san.png Richeze
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ino.png Keough
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/cpl.png Matthews
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/col.png Forero and chiefly
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/avc.png Granjel Cabrera amongst them. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Bennett still has 3 teammates now!

i.imgur.com/1YpQYQQ.jpg

2500m left and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Speirs leads out with a long list of sprinters behind him - the aforementioned jostlers and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ayu.png Opie and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vtb.png Aregger now making a move to the Irishman's wheel.

i.imgur.com/0uaBG6C.jpg

1.3km and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Speirs still leading, however pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vtb.png Aregger, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mei.png Kuboki, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/col.png Forero and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/gen.png Ghyselinck are trying their luck early.

i.imgur.com/kTkiwYe.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Bennett finally launches under the banner, but pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/avc.png Granjel Cabrera, who's been on his wheel the whole time, seems to have the drop on him but pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Speirs continues his work by attempting to block the Colombian. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ayu.png Opie and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vtb.png Aregger have full steam and are only a metre behind the duo though!

i.imgur.com/HVl7wyQ.jpg

Spread across the road with 700m left are pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ayu.png Opie
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Bennett
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Speirs
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vtb.png Aregger
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/col.png Forero and
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mei.png Kuboki.

i.imgur.com/8oC1gKJ.jpg

500m and it looks between pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ayu.png Opie, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vtb.png Aregger and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/col.png Forero however pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/san.png Richeze has seen a miniscule gap between the latter two and is darting for it, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mei.png Kuboki has speed but is looking for a gap that isn't there.

i.imgur.com/oL3mOsO.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/san.png Ariel Maximiliano Richeze sure is a little mermaid and he's swimming at what we're told is 81 kilometres per hour through a gap that just isn't there, but he's finding a path. Is it enough to overhaul pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vtb.png Aregger or current leader pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/col.png Forero?

i.imgur.com/qPBBibK.jpg

Rocket Richeze at it again

i.imgur.com/BG9o14M.jpg

You bet it is! pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/san.png Richeze with an astonishingly tight victory over pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/col.png Forero and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vtb.png Aregger. Reinhardt didn't sniff the wind to take 4th off pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/san.png Richeze's wheel whilst pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ayu.png Opie faded significantly to 5th. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/boi.png Bennett a serious dissapointment after all his team's good work.
