It's crazy that can't protect their premium sites better than that Shock

It's crazy that anybody would want to rip off a small company that provides a unique service to cycling fans. And not only that, by watching pirate streams you're devaluing the worth of internet broadcast rights -- when there's no cycling coverage for you to watch beyond final kilometer highlights, give yourselves a big pat on the back.

It's crazy that they actually expect people to pay to watch something that quite probably is on TV for free... What they expect you to pay doesn't represent the costs they have with the broadcast... It's much much higher... But in a perfect market (economical theory), there are no profits... You get as much as you spend... So who's really ripping off who here?

The TV's actually broadcast it free of charge to the viewers so why don't they do it too? The only difference is that TV networks get their revenue from adds and not viewers... So why don't they do the same?
So, when the assimetries between the world population start to grow even higher, give yourself a big pat on the back...

Maybe if cycling.tv actually tested for bugs and loopholes like this then they wouldn't have to worry so muc about getting ripped off. And maybe if you've shelled out £30 or whatever, they could guarantee the quality of their stream - that would be good too. My friend paid the money for the premium package and gets to watch the finale of live racing in 400 mbs usually, because the other higher quality streams aren't reliable. Angry

Oh please tell me your theory as to why the higher quality streams are under stress at the end of a race. Could it be because people who haven't paid are stealing access to the streams, when the servers are only set up to handle the amount of paying customers?

Are you ripping off Cycling.tv AND their paying customers?

Please provide your sources that suggest that the cost of paying for Cycling.tv is much higher than the costs incurred by the company. As far as I'm aware, they've been operating at a loss for the past three years.

Also answer me this: If you can watch all the races for free on the television, then why are you stealing Cycling.tv's coverage anyway?

I'd kick the shit out of your argument further, but you appear to have just assembled a barely legible pseudo-socialist justification for stealing, with no real care for making a coherent argument or demonstrating an understanding of basic English language.

I don't watch Cycling.tv...

And, if all the people that watch it illegally paid the fee, Cycling.tv would definitely have profit... But, if such a scenario was to happen, I really don't think they would drop the price of the service...

It's not a justification for stealing, it's a justification for them to drop the prices...

As far as the last part of your post goes, which part don't you understand? Maybe if I wrote it in Portuguese you would understand better or, given your history of personal insults in some other threads, if I put a certain symbol here...

One down. Who else is going to try to justify ripping off CTV's feeds?

I paid for it and it rarely ever works on this PC, the laptop, my neighbour's, the other laptop, or the PC at work (just so you know it's not the PC's or the connection's fault).

Usually I get an error, or some stupid error that logs me out automatically, the video on demand seems to be unavailable most of the time when it should be, the transmissions, when I get to watch them are always late.

So, if you really want them to justify stealing the feed, first justify to me why you took my money and provide a service that is far below common standard in availability (not to mention the frustrating lack of usability of the site)

I await your typical "divert the issue and agressively answer nothing-at-all" response.

What? You think you won? You're more pathetic than I thought...

You didn't win... I just don't want to argue with someone that recurs to insults to "prove" a point...

Ahem, Internet Piracy Handbook chapter 3, paragrah 11: If one is not trying to protect his property, he shall not complain.

You have yet to attempt to shut down the site that infringe your copyright or closed the loophole.

Internet Piracy Handbook chapter 1, the very first line: One cannot compete with free.

In summary: Tell the owner of the site of fix the loopholes, take legal action against the site that is ripping CTV's feeds, THEN (thats the keyword) comeback here and play moral guardian of all thats good.

You really expect people not to watch something when it is so stupidly easy to watch it free?

This is unfortunately not a problem with those who watch it for free, people will always do that. The only solution is to actually have a secure system Rolling Eyes
