In this thread you will find answers for the most frequently asked questions of the support thread and the support threads for previous databases.
Do I need a clean installation of PCM for the database to work? You don't need a clean installation of Pro Cycling Manager 2016. We recommended this when we released the 2016DB for PCM 2015, because of the large amount of problems the Expansion Pack was causing back then. Since the EP Lite hasn't caused any gamebreaking bugs since the final patch, you don't need to perform a clean install before installing V1.0.0 of the Expansion Pack.
However, performing a clean install will save you quite some disk space if you had the EP Lite or another database installed before.
To perform a clean install, go to your installation directory and delete all contents of the folder Pro Cycling Manager 2016. Don't delete the folder itself! Open Steam, go to your Library and right click Pro Cycling Manager 2016. Select Properties and go to Local Files. Click Verify integrity of game cache. Steam will now check which files are missing (all files) and will automatically download and install them again.
I installed the database, but now the teams show pink boxes instead of the minishirt. What have I done wrong? orI installed the database, but now the bikes and helmets don't show. What have I done wrong? orI installed the database, but all stages are San Sebastian (123,4 km). What have I done wrong? Most likely, you installed the database in the wrong directory. As a general rule, you need to install the Expansion Pack in the same directory as the one where you can find the PCM executable file (PCM.exe). In our installer, you should manually change the installation directory. The standard location where Steam installs your game is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Pro Cycling Manager 2016, but this directory can be different if you set Steam to install the game in another directory (f.e. D:\SteamLibrary\common\Pro Cycling Manager 2016).
I have installed the database, but when I select it, the message "Thank you for using..." appears and I can't continue from there (the "OK" button doesn't respond). This has been a bug of the game, which has been solved by Cyanide in one of the first updates (1.2.0.0 if I recall correctly). You'll have to update your game in order to get this fixed. If you have prevented Steam from updating your games automatically, you can update PCM manually in the Settings of the game in the Steam Library.
Considering that the game has only been released as Steam game as of PCM2016 (so not in the Program Files\Cyanide directory anymore), the information above should be enough to solve this problem if you have legally purchased the game. For those who haven't installed the game through Steam, we would like to point out that this community is partially funded by the profits of the game (when bought using the GamePlanet link you can find on the homepage of this website). Next to that, the game wouldn't exist any longer if we all decided to obtain pirated copies of the game instead of buying it. Therefore, we won't provide any support if we suspect that you're using an illegal (pirated) copy of Pro Cycling Manager 2016.
I installed the database, but I would like to install another database as well. Does this cause problems? We tried to configure this database in a way that it can be installed alongside another database. However, there are some files that could get overwritten when you install another database. This could result in alterations of your gameplay (like different sponsorkits or missing/wrong jerseys, accessories, et cetera) or even crashes. So it is possible to install multiple databases, but it's risky.
You can however try to make a second installation of PCM in a different path. This way, you can play 2 databases with virtually no risks!
If your question hasn't been answered in here, you can ask your question at the Support thread for the 2016 Database.
Don't send the members of the Database Team PMs about the database, please. Otherwise our inboxes would be overflown with support requests.
