2nd stage is clearly for the sprinters. Nelson, Salleh might be strongest followed by Drapac, Colbrelli, Clarke, Von Hoff, Vingerling and the always high in the lists Rowe despite his acceleration lack.

Quite a few have chances to get the GC lead due to a good prologue. Let`s see if we get a change here.

Only 3 sprinters went for those. Salleh, Nelson and Rowe in this order, so it`s only the Malaysian taking some extra while Novardianto takes the big points.

Second sprint and this time Colbrelli after saving his energy earlier beats the 3 from the first.

It was windy all day and several riders are dropped! 92 riders now in the peloton when the sprint trains form. The breakaway meanwhile got caught after the last Cat.4.

Podium Ambition with all their 6 riders in the front chasing hard and only Sauber can challenge them a bit.

The 3 dropping Podium Ambition riders somehow disturb the Sauber train. Officials might have want to look at this scene later on again. Not the biggest fairplay.

Clarke, Vingerling, Von Hoff and Fonseca are the 4 riders, who won`t care as they have found contact to Nelson`s wheel.

And those sprinters create a clear gap with Matt Rowe trying to join them from behind.

Nelson and Clarke go into the wind early. They have incredible headwind now on the final kilometer.

And Nelson has to slow down the first due to it. Fonseca and Von Hoff might take profit now.

But Clarke still in the lead. Nelson`s effort in the sprints as also being in the first 2-3 positions on a windy stage all day surely weren`t helpful.

But also Clarke struggled and it`s Fonseca taking the stage due to having the biggest engine. Von Hoff with a good 2nd ahead of Clarke.

Salleh from far behind and more protected takes 4th ahead of Nelson. Then Colbrelli and Ewan.

GC wise no change and Flens can wear the leader jersey for another day.

Two more things though. Krasnov had to abandon the race today and Krasnoperov was one of the big riders, who was left behind in the wind. He surely is a good climber but whenever the pace is high on the flat, he is not the best bet. Rienda Segura is another rider who lost time with a same struggle.
