Grand Theft Auto 4 has been released today for PS3 and Xbox, and it's looking to become the game of the year - or maybe even game of the decade. It has received awesome reviews, it has been hyped for years, and it's now finally available for everyone -- or, well, those who rush out to buy it before it's sold out.

On GameRankings, they have collected 21 reviews of the game, and its average score is 99.8/100 for the PS3-version and 99.1/100 for the Xbox-version.
And you know what? I don't have a PS3. I don't have an Xbox. I have a Wii, a PS2, a PSP and a gamer-PC. So no GTA 4 for me - I'm crying  |

There has been so much contraversy over here about it. Its been doing my head in all day!! I hate Rock star for not releasing it for PC. All these crap consoles. |

my mate got it but then when he inserted the cd his xbox decided to crash and now he has to take it to microsoft who will repair his xbox

Is my preorder in yet? Is my preorder in yet? Is it? Is it? Is it? Please tell me dear EB-games, can i play GTA IV now? Demmit, why didnt i preorder early enough to get a game from the first delivery? I bet i wont get it until Monday...

Edit: Gentlemen, EB games informs me that they got a spare GTA IV for the PS3 just for me now. I shall ignore you guys starting from tommorow.

I'm getting it, but as I only ordered it last night, I have to wait until 9th May. I'm ordering my PS3 tonight as well, they say I'll get it on the 1st May.
GTA's going to be awesome, my mate got it in the post this morning, he's says it's class

EMA, what a wonderful thing I start getting mine next yearB) (school year)
Anyway GTA. My mate says that when you're in a boat, you steer it with you controller, in a steering motion, wich sound cool (that's PS3, don't think you can do it on Xbox) and you can go bowling on it, he got 110 this morning, it's a pointless addition really, but cool to have
As you may be able to tell, I'm very excited (apparently online's pretty good as well)

What's EMA?
About the bowling-thing, it's one of the small mini-games included. It does actually have a function -- it can be used to impress new friends. You can invite them to bowling, stand-up shows, etc., and in the end it will benefit you. For example, one friend will make sure that some of his guys go along with you on some missions, etc. So it's not totally worthless.

GTA 4 made me finally buy a PS3, I remember wanting one last year but then I went off it. GTA brought me back to wanting it and I gave in to my wantments (couldn't think of the word)

EMA is money that is given to students each week if your parents earn under a certain amount of money a year. I haven't read the thing yet to see how much I might get, but the maximum is £30 a week and you can spend it on whatever you wantB)
I'm hoping I qualify for it, my parents run their own business, so that's in my favour to get EMA, but their banker has said they've been doing very well with business, so I'm not sure

The word is cravings, but oh well
A shame I don't have A HD Tv, but given Blu-ray won, the price of PS3 and the fact I've always preferred playstations, to xbox's, I'll probably get a ps3

About the EMA, it sounds like the Danish SU-system. It's money that is given to everyone older than 18 studying at high school or university. I'm currently getting c. 530 £ per month - but I'm an university student, and I'm not living at home. Had I been studying at high school and living home, it would have been a lot less
My mom actually gave me money long ago to buy a PS3. But I was worried that I wouldn't use it at all, so I bought a PSP and a Wii instead. I'm so regretting that now, especially because you can't get the 60 GB PS3 with backwards compatibility here in Denmark anymore. That said, I will get a PS3 eventually. I have to. |

I don't think you can get the 60GB PS3 anywhere anymore. You certainly can't in England, I had to settle for the 40GB that doesn't play PS2 games. 40GB is ok, my mate has a 60GB PS3 and he's only used up 20GB, and he has loads on his, so I guess 40GB will be ok. Obviously not being able to play PS2 games is a bit of a pain, considering pretty much all PS3 games cost £40 and I'll only have a couple of games to alternate between now, until I get more money.
They'll be awesome games, but only 2 of them.
Also, one of the main reasons I'm getting a PS3 over an Xbox is that with an Xbox you have to pay £40 a year to play online, whereas on a PS3 is free. Also one ridiculous thing on an Xbox is that it's £8 to change your gamertag (your name on the Xbox) that's just stupid Plus, I don't like the buttons on Xbox and I think there's more things on a PS3. I'm used to Playstations, I don't like changing

I shall now commence having a laugh. I was a smart guy which purchased the 60GB version in due time (by due time i mean the day before the Sony officially discontinued them).
That said, the ability to play PS2 games is needed if you actually have a need to play a lot of different games. So far i have Motorstorm and Resistance: FoM (which both followed with the PS3), Heavenly Sword, Guitar Hero III and tommorow GTA IV. That said, if i had an HDTV, i'd have Gran Turismo 5 Prologue as well.

From Amazon in UK and US, it's still available. I thought of buying one from the internet, but then again, I like the security of being able to go to the shop with it if it breaks down. So I will have to settle with the 40 GB version. I still have a PS2, but if I'm buying a PS3 I will have to move the PS3 .. I mean, there must a limit of eletronic devices below my TV (currently, there's a hifi system, a Wii, a PS2 and a DVD-recorder)
About the Xbox-subscription, it's weird, yes. but I read that Sony is considering the same thing. And also, the only reason that it's free is to get more people to use it. Xbox has from the beginning been a lot better to use the internet possibilities whereas PS2 never really got popular on the internet. So, to do something about it, they have made it free. Once it's popular enough, they will change it - no doubt in my mind about that
