Yesterday Vastaranta showed some impressive climbing and his sprint skills might make him a favourite today again.
Bookies though believe the stronger puncheurs will go for it such as Costa, Bellis, who also did well alongside all the obvious top guys.
The stage itself is not as hard but a late hill could become a good opportunity to attack.
3 riders in the break today including the red jersey of KoM leader Lane.
Silva
Stenersen
Lane easily takes both early KoM sprints extending his lead. Stenersen and Silva take the remaining points while Manulang just joined them after a longer solo ride.
The gap is at 4min and weirdly next to Ayubowan it`s Indosat chasing despite Manulang doing the same in the front group.
With Telkom and Arrinera coming to the front when the climbing starts the gap is reduced quickly. Only 1min left with 15km to go.
4,3 km of climbing now with an average of almost 5%.
Reichenbach is the first rider to attack 1,4 km ahead of the top.
Kratochvila and Hatanaka try to follow.
GC wise this is 31st, 35th and 41st and all ~ 4min behind.
On top Silva and Stenersen pass the Cat.2 first followed by Lane. Then already Reichenbach who caught Manulang. All solo now though.
Only the top 4 on last climb ahead and all others caught. The big favourites surprisingly took a day off on the climb but now try a downhill attack initiated by Ben Nasser. Roglič and Costa follow but a lot of Netia and Valio team mates are already chasing.
Reichenbach is surely the strongest in front now. Together with Stenersen behind him, he is now closing the gap to Silva under the 5km mark.
1min behind Lane, who is only seconds ahead of the trio and the peloton. Those 4 though are caught again on next kilometer.
Silva quickly was passed and left behind. It`s between Reichenbach and Stenersen, who recovered well on the descent.
The peloton is not that far behind but won`t make it back as it`s too close to the finish. 3.3km.
And Reichenbach clearly takes the win being able to celebrate far from the line already as Stenersen was never a real threat to him. Big solo win and a good one for UBS after failing in yesterdays stage.
Vinther over the line as 3rd with 1'07 to Reichenbach. He steals the bonus seconds from Bellis and Vastaranta next, while the Swiss climbs up to 13th in the GC.
Bad news as well though for UBS as Dillier abandoned the stage today.
