After Laizer's win of the ITT, it's now time for the road race ! More than 260 kilometers to complete today, under the typical windy conditions, that should be promised to a sprinter between those guys :

The peloton is very restrictive today, but finally 3 cyclists manage to create the good breakaway after 30 kilometers :

Ondze
Kimathi
Puncture for Hoareau, but he will come back easily now that the pack stopped chasing.

As a signal, the peloton starts to chase as it enters Doha, at 150 kilometers from the line. The three guys at the front have a 9 minute gap.

Lagab attacks at 45 kilometers of the finish ! The peloton goes insane behind him, strechting a lot. We should see echelons soon. Bakari dropped. The gap is now of 2 minutes between the break and the pack.

When the Algerian came back on the leaders, the peloton swallowed them. It exploded in 5 kilometers, leaving only 100 able of winning today. Haddi, Ayoune, Twelde and Habtom already beaten.

The peloton keeps losing riders : 53 guys still in the pack with 20 kilometers left. Abdallah, Yemeli and Daku surrendered.

Ariko is humiliating everyone ! Everyone is struggling except him. 5 kilometers and Saber at 35 seconds, he should win this thing if he doesn't crack.

The new African champion is Paul Ariko ! The Kenyan fighter was clearly the stronger today, helped by the difficult conditions of Qatar.

Very disappointed, Lahcen Saber takes silver while the bronze medal goes to Nolan Hoffman. Desire Gombakomba, who launched the good move, misses the podium in 4th place, ahead of John-Lee Augustyn.

With a bike throw full of rage, Elias Afewerki is 6th today. The top favourite Juan Van Heerden is only 9th ! Anonymous finish for the offensive Goodnews Clifford, who crosses the line in 12th position.
Lots of time gaps weren't taken into account, much to the spectators' disgrace.
