The wind is still there in Doha, joined today by a surprising heavy rain. However, the American Time Trial Championship will be raced now. Phinney appears as the clear favourite for the gold medal, but Amador, Uran and Nascimiento should fight for today's podium.

The first quarter of riders to start is dominated by Mosquea. He's 19 seconds ahead of Monsalve and 1'07'' ahead of Matthews.

There's a lot of leaders changes. First Carapaz (-8'' ), then Martinez (-45'' ), and finally Rosas, with an important advantage : 1 minute and 22 seconds on Martinez.

Duarte and Meier are beaten by a close margin. But here comes Bookwalter, one of the outsiders ! He wipes out Rosas' hopes, with a lead of 1 minute and 14 seconds.

Decent performance for Muñoz, who finishes with « only » 40 seconds more than Bookwalter. Rodas is 4th now at 1'45'' from Bookwalter.

Top 10 rides for Pereyra, Ramos and Gomez, but we will remember the new provisional 2nd : Cataford ! 36 seconds behind Bookwalter. Only 4 riders left to come now.

Amador doesn't seem to have an horrible ride, but Uran is coming back on him ! The colombian will have for sure a good time on the finish line !

Yes, Uran is even the new leader. Setting a new record with 1h04'15'' (-47'' on Bookwalter), he will be on the podium today ! Amador won't, he's 5th on the line, nearly 2 minutes behind Uran.

Incredible ! Nascimiento was expected to finish now, but it's Phinney who tumbles under the last kilometer arch ! And the time that comes with it is impressive : He's 1'06'' faster than Uran.

Nascimiento gave everything he could, but he won't be on the podium today : 4th at 2'20'' from Phinney.
So Taylor Phinney keeps his title, ahead of Rigoberto Uran and his fellow countryman Brent Bookwalter.
