American Topclass and Swiss....Chocolate?
BMC Racing Team was founded in 2007 by American Cyclist Jim Ochowicz and first came to glory in 2010 with a 2nd place in the Tour de France by Cadel Evans. Cadel Evans would reprise his effort and left the Schleck brothers behind to win the 2011 version of the Race, becoming the oldest Tour de France winner! Since then the team has been a safe competitior in the World Tour and brings around for another season among the best.
This year the team expanded it's GC hopes by signing Richie Porte from Team Sky, clearly looking forward to go for his own and not ending up being one of the many shadows from Chris Froome (can only assume he is quite overweight!). The team is very all-round with leaders in Cobbles, Ardennes, Mountains, Hills and even Time Trials. The team has a signature for being one of the best TTT teams and clearly that is their only real advantage in the Mountains.
Tejay Van Garderen had an unlucky event last year where he was close to Christopher Froome in the GC of the 2015 version of Tour de France. Being 2nd for some time in the race, suddenly disease hit the American GC rider and he had to see himself out of touch in hunt to compete with Cadel Evans' achievement. This season the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana is the 2 big races and we hope he can do well in both.
Richie Porte was a part of the strong Team Sky Mountain Train Express lead by a program and an handyman. Now he has joined forces with us for this season and we will try our best not to disappoint him once more. The big stage races like Paris-Nice is the golden express for this years season if you are Richie Porte, so hopefully we can go for some nice GC's!
Greg Van Avermaet is a very solid guy to have on any team, his golden opportunity is to find himself in Cobbles mixed up with good ol' short Ardennes hills. That is a dangerous cocktail and considering he is not bad in sprints, gives him good opportunities in various terrain. Ronde Van Vlaanderen is the big goal of the year and Tour de France will be a happy stage hunt too.
Philliphe Gilbert is one of the biggest Ardennes classic riders in this era and the 3 Ardennes classics are a warm goal for Gilbert each year and this year he wants to set his name on the tallest podium spot this year. Again he will be used in the Giro to cause havoc and go for stage wins. Also he will see himself competing for more fitting stage races too. Overall he is not getting younger and needs a final big result before it is too late!
Rohan Dennis is the final piece in the big puzzle on how to get the 1st Final Standings in the World Tour. We have the team and Rohan Dennis is no weak link in any way. He will be smashing the Prologues with great confidence and the longer TT's will be in his sight too. He can climb too and will be an important Lieutenant for out 2 GC's hopes.
There are many more to give a kind word too, but the Australian Championship begins tomorrow, so better start the adventure!

I always thought Ritchie was an Aussie, Sky must have really changed him more than we thought
Hopefully he makes the switch back in time to register to help Dennis in the Nationals.

Hilly Course as usual
Spoiler Lineup
Richie Porte
Rohan Dennis
The Race
Rohan Dennis was not happy with 8 men trying to form a breakaway with only 57 riders total in the race. It was worth the effort and even with 2 guys controlling the pack isn't the hardest, but not the most ideal.
Travis Meyer
Jonathan Clarke
Callum Watson
is todays break and Orica is controlling the pace down in the pack
On the final climb Richie Porte and Rohan Dennis starts a delicious Tag Team to avoid Matthews getting the NC in the sprint. It seems to be working, but in the background Michael Matthews tries to join our 2 guys! Rohan Dennis is todays hope for a win!
Rohan Dennis holds the line and Michael Matthews did do a great job gaining time on the descent toward finish, but Rohan Dennis wins the Australian NC just ahead of him. Simon Gerrans takes bronze and Richie Porte ends up 6th after great work when it had to count.

First big GC stage of the race
First big World Tour Event of the season here Down Under. With quite a few Australians in the team, we hope to do our best here. Last year Rohan Dennis won the race and he will now try to win it again for us. We saw how great in shape he is already and we expect him to do well. However with names like Valverde, Albasini and Nibali in the pack it will be hard for our Australian NC
D. Wyss
I. Keisse
J. Bobridge
L. Bak
G. Moscon
D. Teklehaimanot
Y. Offredo
Is Todays Breakaway, where Danilo Wyss has been send out 30 km later than the breakaway was formed, to try and create an distraction for the other GC favorites. We have to admit we don't have the strongest team
With 10 kilometers to go and having 1 minute down to the chasing pack, Danilo Wyss tries to do a final attack on the final climb! We have Rohan Dennis close to Alejandro Valverde and have to make sure he doesn't get an advantage today
On the top of the climb Tony Gallopin and Alejandro Valverde tries to attack, but Wyss still have 1 minute and their attack doesn't look like an succesfull one. We will have to see if it ends in a final mass sprint.
Danilo Wyss burns all his energy, but it is worth it, as he takes the victory on the 3rd stage of the race. This win comes after a hard day in the peleton and the Swiss NC was visible from start to end! The pack comes in 1 minute later led by Michael Matthews (ironically enough)
Tune in when we show how the 5th stage went on Old Willunga Hill, can Danilo Wyss keep the GC to the end of this race?

Last Hilly Stage of the TDU
Today is the day we will find the first winner of a stage race and we're still in the lead with 51 seconds for Danilo Wyss. It will be a hard day for us, as Wyss can only afford to loose so little time on the Willunga Hill. Alejandro Valverde is todays favorite and his standards are usually really high
M. Brammeier
D. Teuns
N. Politt
P. Lecuisinier
Y. Popovych
G. Moscon
Is today's break, Dylan Teuns is here to create a living distraction for the other teams or if the chance allows, go for a similar attemt as Wyss did earlier.
We jump to 25 km before finish and we're on the Willunga Hill for a first time, here Dylan Teuns tries to keep others from attacking, by going for an attempt himself. It is time for action!
Teuns' attakc didn't last for long and was quickly catched by the collective pack that had chased him all day. Valverde is now going for the win with an unbeatable attempt in pure pace! Wyss is currently 20 seconds away from Valverde, while he is crossing the Flamme Rouge. Even worse is that Rohan Dennis can't follow, so it's a battle between Valverde and Wyss!
Alejandro Valverde wins the stage with great ease and Danilo Wyss is spotted to be fighting to keep the lead to him in the Final Standings. He losses 55 seconds on todays stage and that means...
Alejandro Valverde wins the Tour Down Under with 4 seconds down to Danilo Wyss, which came close to win a big World Tour event. He did sacrifice it all today and 2nd is still a really strong result!
See you next in Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race!

Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race
Hilly Course Down Under
A rather new race and is currently a small bit of Cadel Evans legacy to compete as an annual event each year. We do hope to make our old mentor proud of the teams current progress, so a win here will be very good for our image.
Todays Break
J. Lowndes
N. Van der Ploeg
W. Anacona
M. Senni
S. Armee
G. Bagdonas
Manuelle Senni is in the break today to make sure the team doesn't have to waste energy controlling the breakaway to day.
Senni's day in the break ends 14 kilometers ahead of the finish of the race and can sit back and relax for the rest of the ride. Dylan Teuns does seem to have the best legs today and will be our leader.
Ulissi is the big fish to catch today and shows that by having a strong lead at the top of the last climb of the race. Rohan Dennis have tried to get Teuns into a good position and now Teuns only need to catch the Italian on the way down toward goal
The Italian was impossible for Teuns to compete with in the end and has to be satisfied with a 3rd place on the podium. Ulissi won the race ahead of Sonny Colbrelli and we will have to disappoint by not being able to honor Cadel Evans today properly.
Next Up is a coverage of Herald Sun Tour, where Rohan Dennis will try and compete for his last GC before taking a break, after a hard and filled January Schedule.
