Played the game for the first time last year and found the be a pro mode to be the most enjoyable and had some success but want to build on it this year.
I am looking to build a young rider who can eventually complete the near impossible challenge of winning all 3 grand tours.
Should I start as a climber or a GC specialist? Looking at the max stats it appears that climber is better in all but TT and from my experience last year it was in the climbs when all the time was gained and the tours won! Would I be better off making an excellent climber?
Also what should I train initially? By the end of my career last year I found myself just training climbing as otherwise I would loose my mountain stats. Should I therefore train as a puncher or something like that to build up other stats and then train climber later?
Currently waiting on game to finish downloading!!!!!
MO climber > stage
DO climber >> stage
TT climber <<< stage
PR climber <<< stage
ACC climber >>> stage
END climber = stage
RES climber = stage
REC climber = stage
HIL climber = stage
I've used both and it honestly depends on how good you are at the mountains and how aggressive you're willing to be. I personally prefer going the stage rider way due to the TT being a very useful tool to make up large amounts of time on some of the more specialist mountain guys, if you're confident in making enough time on guys like quintana, pinot, froome etc then you should be fine.
Ok I've gone for Stage. Going to train as a puncher for a while to train some of the other stats. I'll then switch to GC/climber later depending how career is developing
