This will be a thread where I review databases for Pro Cycling Manager 07/08. First stop pack complet 2008.
This is a complete review of the Pack Complet 2008 database
Features:
- Updated Teams
- Updated Jerseys
- Correct Riders
- Starts in 2008
Races
The races profiles have not been updated. The only new thing I see is that the Tour Down Under has been upgraded to UCI status.
Score: 3/10
Graphics
Nothing new in the graphics department. Give them a little bit of credit for updating the jerseys but don’t expect anything else.
Score: 2/10
Stats
I think the stats need a lot of work. Most riders have been knocked down a few overall points. That isn’t a big deal except that some of the lower riders and average riders haven’t been knocked down at all. For example Jerome Coppel has better stats than Alberto Contador. It seems like stats haven’t changed much since the Official Release some 10 odd months ago. A lot of results are un-realistic. It seems like not a lot of work has been put into this. Another negative note is that there are only 2 potential 8 riders in the game. There are no younger 8 potential riders like Ullisi or Phinney anymore so people who like those types of riders you will be in for a rude awakening.
Score: 3/10
Opinion
Ok, that’s it. No more 08 databases until the PCM daily DB. It is just pointless. Anyone can lower stats and change names of teams. I mean they added absolutely no new teams. When will these people learn? It was a good attempt but it stops there. If I had to rank this of all the 08 databases so far it would be about 5th but don’t take that as a compliment, Almost all the databases suck so if you are just absolutely desperate for an 08 database, here is my suggestion … WAIT.
Overall
Overall I think there is still a lot of work to do. Maybe a few patches later this might be better but right now it isn’t worth downloading.
Score: 2/10
Pros & cons
+ New teams
+ New Jerseys
+ Riders on right team
- Everything else
Stay tuned for future Reviews ( when there is a good 08 database)

"but a HUGE glitch that makes the game almost impossible to have fun is that races such as the Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico , Milan San-Remo, and quite a few other races do not register as Pro Tour Races therefore they don’t count for the overall standings."
Well, it's you who's wrong. Those races are not Pro Tour anymore, and therefore they are not supposed to count for the Pro Tour-ranking. It will be the same in the PCM.daily DB.
Other than that, well done Maybe include a screenshot or two of the stats or something like that.

Politics - ASO versus UCI.
If it's owned by ASO, it's not likely to be under anything remotely to do with the UCI

Its the big fall out between ASO, RCS, UniPublic and the UCI. ASO vs the UCI mainly.

I won't write another review. So you can lock the thread.
