Please give me advice on how to deal the best way possible in mountain stages on extreme level. I know that about the heartbeat, about the free effort cursor but still i don't manage to match up the other favourites. If i stay with in the peloton on last climb i finish 5th at best, but if i go on counter-attack i could end up worst. I manage to finish constantly between 15th and 5 th position but i think there is place for a better tactic.
So please if you could , give me some advices or describe in a few words your tactic.
Thank you very much. |

Have your good riders protect your best rider and then put him on an effort cursor of about 70 to 80 on the last climb and he will be able to breakaway from the pack with a win. Hope this helps. there might be better ways but this works for me.

I've already read that. Please explain your own tactic a little bit. |

On that other thread it says exactly what I said. Well I guess I'm not that quick. Only a week to late. [sarcastic]So close.[/sarcastic]

In Extreme, your riders get a -1 penalty in all stats and riders for other teams get a +1 bonus. this isn't seen in the stats displayed, but the effect is there. 2 points in every stat is a huge difference. don't expect to win unless your rider is much stronger or the AI is very dumb.

Maybe you should take it down a notch. Then things will be easier.

Don't expect to win on extreme unless your rider is at 90 fitness at the very least, with a positive daily form and is one of the favourites for the stage (ie has THE best mountain stat). Other than that, normal tactics should work. Countering attacks are not often a good idea, just following the pace and when attacks go i would just shove it on 99% dot to catch them back up, and then try to relay them off my wheel if you are strong enough. If not, just wheel suck and attempt to stick with the top runners. I personally find the hard setting the most realistic.
