That is completely false... Porto can't be relegated... The maximum penalty is loosing 6 points next season... Boavista are the ones that can be relagated...
And btw, don't believe everything that you hear and/or read... FC Porto are under investigation due to a match between them and Beira-Mar(a really crapy team, and Porto was leading the championship by 6 points) that ended 0-0 and where Porto actually had a penalty that wasn't conceded and a huge number of dubious offsides... On the other hand, Benfica's boss was caught in a call with the president of the portuguese league selecting the referee for an upcoming match... But somehow, that didn't make it to court...

Reminds me of Jueventus and the other Serie A teams that were docked points and relegated in that scandal in '06 |

Yes, even a referee testifying in court that this season prior to a game with Naval he was offered "a valuable crystal" by a benfica representative misteriously "was not enough ground" to have them in court.
However, Porto have been put in court "just because". There's no actual evidence.
Make no mistake, every year, in every way, Benfica must be the champions, and everyone else is fucked. I apologise for swearing, but there's no other way to put it.
The real goal here is to rattle the Porto players mentally and get the man who built the club into what it is today, Pinto da Costa, out of there, so that Porto will stop dominating.
The only thing that's different this year is the method. In previous years, mysterious suspensions "rained" on Porto players just before games against Benfica. this year it's this.

oh yes, the other game Porto are accused of "buying" (again there's no evidence whatsoever) is a home game against the bottom placed team that Porto drew 1-1, were heavily robbed, and the referee waived play on when an asshole broke one of our players' legs.
If they were going to make up lies, they could've picked better games
Ironically, we'll be playing that same team at home this weekend. if we win, we'll be champions.

It has to be said that if Porto had lost against both teams in the 2003-04 season, they would still of been champions. I wonder if this scandal will effect José's chances of finding a new job in Italy. I suppose not, seeing as he doesn't appear to have much to do with it, and it certainly never stopped the previous managers of Juventus. |

Keep your voice down... You do know some of pcmdaily's visitants are in fact from Portugal, right? Do you want to have a lawsuit too or lose your job? Have you forgotten how big LFV's ears are?

I don't follow Portuguese football, but being from the area that supports D.C. United, and knowing people who played on the Potomac Panthers with Freddy Adu (damn his soul), I can say that any scandal involving Benifica on any level is okay with me |

no scandal will ever involve them. we're talking about the team that has an average of 21 penalties for them a season in the league. Porto's average since 1990 is 5. Similar statistical differences are in order for yellow and red cards and penalties against.
We're talking about the team whose president was arrested for corruption the following day after he left the club so he'd have nothing to do with the club, despite the fact the investigation had been going on for years.
Benfica over here is Real Madrid in spain: It's a case for laughter every time they don't win just because they have everything (and everyone) going for them.

I know that much, but I just like seeing Freddy Adu being brought down in some manner. You didn't live in the D.C. area when he was signed by D.C. United at the age of 14. He was like a god, and seeing him be horrible (the D.C. United coach was villified for not playing him more than 20-30 min a game, even though he didn't really deserve to be on the team) makes me happy, as I can make fun of my friend (a massive D.C. United fan) at a level unheard of when the reason involves the MLS. |

I wish...
Let's just say that all 6 million Benfica fans are getting pissed off because we dominate the national league so they came up with this...

nope. read my previous posts and you'll understand this happens every year. Benfica isn't leading, so something has to happen so they'll win something.

Benfica vs Porto old rivalry
Benfica suck with youth academy so they buy...and do crap..okey when trapa comes they do something
Porto incredible academy for youth every year 20-30 u 21 players who can make the big step to the big squad it's easy to sell and have reinforcements from the youth and the buy incredible
Porto low prices good players
Benfica high prices crap players

Currently FC Porto need just one win to be crowned champions. Our next match is a game against Estrela da Amadora at home...
I want FC Porto to be penalized by 6 points this season... This would mean that we wouldn't win the championship this weekend... FC Porto will be penalized by 6 points, win against Estrela da Amadora at home, win against Vit. Setubal away and then be crwoned champions at home against (and here's the irony of ironies) Benfica...
Man, that would be sweeeet...
What do you say isso? Sounds yumi right?

Yes, it sounds. Porto has won this season since Christmas, and as far as that 6 point penalty takes to a spectacular match, why not?

I'll take as mine the words of Sporting president Soares Franco: "I hope this turns out to be a mistake, and very quickly. That way we can all get back to what matters: the football."
