As some of you might have noticed I've been longing to play a decent historical database for a while now. So I decided to convert and perfect the PCMFreaks 2006 DB, and I am now done converting the original db. I want this product to be at the standard of the products provided by the PCMdaily team and therefore I could use some help.
At the moment I am in the process of editing the full race calendar of 2006. Well, not the entire calendar of course, but a calendar the size of the ones provided by PCMdaily. But a couple of important races are missing, and since I'm not a graphics guy, I sure could use a little help. The races missing are:
Eindhoven Team Time Trial (got ztcs file for convertion)
Deutschland Tour (got ztcs file for convertion)
Coppa Placci (got ztcs file for convertion)
UCI TT World Championships 2006 Salzburg Austria (got ztcs file for convertion)
Züri-Metzgete (got ztcs file for convertion)
I would also like to gather a team of statmakers as the stats are totally off in the original db. So if you followed cycling carefully in 2006 or just studied that era like a mad man message me and let me know if and how you'll be able to contribute.
Oh, wait! I found a newer .cdb on my computer, seems I did some additional changes after I posted. Attaching it to this post.
Edit2: I see that you need to change around the sprinters' stats a little bit. They were made for an older PCM where the effects of the SPR stat and the ACC stat were basically the other way around. So instead of e.g. Boonen having 80SPR, 82ACC, it should be the other way around.

Very nice! If I'm unsure about a specific stat for a specific rider, I'll definately use your db as a "sparringpartner". But it seems like you focused primarily on the top riders, and I have to say that I don't really see that as being a problem for me to calculate and decide myself. The problem is rather the riders not getting top results. It's much tougher to determine their stats, and this is where i fall a bit short..
As I said, it's not perfect. But I seem to remember I made improvements pretty deep down the ladder. I did follow cycling in 2006, so I could maybe help out if there are riders you're unsure about, but I don't think I have the time to do proper work on the cdb.
Don't know how much you've done in the DB so far, but hopefully you can benefit from some of the other changes I made too. The weight/height changes improved the realism a lot.

Sounds great! I'll definately use whatever I can! And I'm absolutely fine doing most of the work myself, but having some knowledgeable sparringpartners would be lovely as I only watched the grand tours back in 2006..
The stat calculation tool by TankNL would also be a huge help when making these historical databases, but it would obviously have to be perfected as well in order for the results to be useful..
The "changelog" can be found in the post I linked.
The TankNL method is impressive, but as far as I know, it doesn't consider placings from breakaways etc, so you're right, it definitely needs a lot of manual adjustments.

Great!
Yea, it might be an idea not to include riders from breakaways in the calculation, but that would obviously speed down the process tremendously as you'd have to read race reports as well..
- I've put in the data from Squires db.
- Gathered ztcs files for last missing stages.
- Created Tour de Georgia & Euskal Bizikleta by using stages from other races.
I need one or two stagemakers to convert the following races using the ztcs files I've gathered:
Eindhoven Team Time Trial
Deutschland Tour
Coppa Placci
UCI TT World Championships 2006 Salzburg
Züri-Metzgete
And I could also still use some statmakers to help perfect the stats.
