Motorbikes in cycling

In the past we had several riders ending up with abandons and injuries because of crashes with motorbikes. Last year Greg Van Avermaet lost the Clasica San Sebastian after being hit by a motorbike. Today we had a deadly accident.

Obviously the riders want to see less cars and bikes in the race, but as the race organisers are not a favour of that, it's up to those who can make a difference. It's for all those people watching cycling on tv, listening on the radio, reading the articles online or in the newspaper that we have all those cars and motorbikes. We, the fans, have to do something here.

I want to start some kind of online petition to make clear we want less motor vehicles in the race. If it means the Belgian tv can't have a motor reporter in the Tour de France, so be it. If I have to see the same race photos on different websites, I'm ok with that. Rider safety should become the priority.

So, if we have the base on this website to start this petition, and someone who knows more about the internets than me, I hope we can start something, expand it and make a difference.

Everyone, thanks for all the likes so far, however I really want this to happen so we can change something. If anyone knows a good way to start an internet petition, let me know! Smile
