Okay, I've noticed something in the career I'm currently playing.
I'm using Credit Agricolae and one of the sponsor goals is to win a stage in the Giro. Not having an elite climber, and not having an elite sprinter other than Hushvold, I decided to bring a team strong on the time trials to win the TTT to start the race.
I won the stage, fufilling my sponsor goal. I then managed to win the next stage as well with a lucky attack after many sprinting teams were weakened by a late climb on the stage.
What I noticed was my TTT victory gave me 4-stars on the stage victory on the goals screen, while my win in the next stage gave me only 1-star.
My question is, do the effects of achieving a goal simply get reflected on the star rating? If I get 4-stars from some other accomplishment does it treat it exactly the same as if I had achieved a goal?
I always though goals were behind the scenes in some way, but I only have two accomplishments with 4 or 5 stars... and both are achieving sponsor goals.
Is there more to sponsor goals... or is it just a star boost on the goals screen? |

No, fufilling a goal normally will get you 4-5 stars, but it does not automatically do so. The point of goals is that the sponsor gets very happy when you complete them, and mad when you don't, so if you want to keep your job it is important to complete them. |

Well yes... but is that done only through the stars? Or is there still a behind the scenes mechanic?
I just wondered because of the star differential in two Giro stage wins. The first (fufilling a goal) was 4-stars. The second was 1-star. If that's all than failing a sponsor goal isn't such a big deal. I missed on a top 5 at Milano-San Remo (another sponsor goal) but didn't notice any faltering in sponsor confidence (remained excellent). Perhaps I had built up a strong cushion with other good performances.

I'm not too sure about what you're asking, but it is possible to continue a career without being fired even if you have failed all your goals. |

Well, I guess the question was if sponsor goals have any real affect besides the number of stars next to the accomplishment on the goals screen.
Or is the only affect the fact that those accomplishments give you more stars than they normally would. (which does cause it to affect sponsor confidence more).
It would be good to know that sponsor goals would have no impact if you're already way better than normall on the season in terms of accomplishments. |

I don't think they have any real effect, expect for the great boost in confidence, if you do them. |

Yeah they are not that important. Do them if you can, if you can't dw about it. I barely ever get more than one of them done. |

You can and will be fired yes, but it depends a lot on the rest of your season. If you're able to get top results while you miss out on your goals you won't be fired. Do you miss your goals and have a - in general - bad season you will most likely be fired. |
