Paolo Scarponi is clearly the strongest climber but is alone against a Sauber trio, where Forcellino is the best climber. So can one rider control the race or will Sauber play their number advantage today?

Scarponi is riding behind the Sauber trio checking every move.

So he is not able to follow Zafferani. Possibly ignoring him a bit as well as he is he worst climber next to a well known Theo Bos.

Though his advantage is quickly up to 15min. So this really should be enough for the final climb.

And as the riders behind did give up, he defends the jersey on the least ideal terrain. But with a 3:1 advantage it was always hard for Scarponi.

The ITT is tricky. Forcellini and P. Scarponi are weak time trialists but better than Zafferani and G. Scarponi.

Forcellini takes the lead after 10km.

He is 4s faster than Good Energy`s P. Scarponi.

And also Zafferoni can`t challenge him as he is 9s down at this point.

With every check he is gaining a few seconds. 16s in the end but it`s another NC for Sauber.
