Flat NC in Slovakia. The stand out name is Peter Sagan, who is top favourite. Are 4 more Becherovka riders enough to control the race?
A problem could be the OTP team as Tybor and Mahdar are not that much weaker sprinters.
Single riders are M.Velits (Novatek), J.Sagan (Fablok) and Varhanik (Netia).

So apparently both bigger teams decided to send out one of their riders.

The peloton is giving up early. Bad luck for Sagan but also the other single riders.

Kolar is more a climber. So he is in a problem now against two stronger riders on flat terrain. He attacks with 5km to go.

But Canecky, who might be the better rider on a course like this is closing the gap and immediately uses his fast speed to go past him.

Final kilometer and he clearly has a gap.

Nice win for Canecky and OTP Bank.
Kolar was definitely the wrong option and instead working for Sagan possibly had delivered the NC win.
Only other finisher Varhanik in 3rd.

The ITT is a fight between the Velits brothers and Juraj Sagan. Those 3 are the strongest time trialists in Slovakia.

Martin Velits often is in the shadow of Peter. Also today as he is 23s slower.

This order stays until the end. Peter Velits at least takes one NC jersey for Becherovka as he beats Sagan by 37s and his brother by 1'21.
