Here is a little tip to help you to get a few young riders with 7 potential
Few things that you got to know before I start explaining:
- Young riders get generated around the 25th of October every year
- Every season there is 0 to 1 young rider with 8 potential created (that’s right, you don’t get a 8 every season), and around 5 to 7 riders with 7 potential
- My game crashes if I try to clic on a newly generated rider before the 1st of Jan
- Not sure if it’s the same for everybody, but I cant “close monitor” more than 7 riders at a time, as there is a problem with the display (if I get an 8th scout, it comes in front of the “confirm” button and I cant clic on it anymore)
Alright, how to get champions then? It took me a while to figure it out, but it’s actually quite easy:
25th of October, the young riders get generated. Have a quick look at free riders under 24 or 23 (you can write down or screenshot if you want but no need). Look at the best rider in each category: Mo, Hill, Sprint, TT, COB, and average (very important). I don’t use baroudeur often, so I don’t look at this point.
I cant do nothing with them until the 1st of Jan because my game crashes. If it works for you, then you can start scouting.
On the 1st of January, go back to the list of young riders. 1st thing you notice, their stats have increased. Now you gotta think: knowing that the rider with the best potential have their stats increasing the quickest, have a look at riders with the best average (most of them will have a great potential), and it will show you directly which one to pick. You can also look per main stat, which ones have the highest.
The next step is to write down all the categories: climber, stage, puncher, sprinter, TT, Northern classic, and you write what rider you want to scout. You will have until the 6th of Feb to scout, the 6th of Feb being when you chose which riders you will close monitor. That means EACH scout will be able to scout 5 to 6 guys in his category between the 1st of Jan and the 6th of Feb.
Get a clear picture, let say for ex: you have 8 climbers, 3 stage, 7 sprinters, 4 COB, 2 TT. Hire enough scout to scout them all (so you’ll need 2 climbers and 2 sprinters scout to be sure) what you can do as well is fill up the scout’s job so they all have 5-6 guys to scout
6th of Feb, select the guy you want to close monitor, most of the time, they will be in the 5-8 potential category, but sometimes you can also have a 4-7.
How to chose on the 6th of feb: go back to the young riders search menu and look at the one with the highest average, a very good main carac, and also a good sta/res/rec depending on their category. (ex a climber with 75Mo and 73 rec for ex will probably have a great potential). You WILL see a difference compared to average riders. And If you don’t on your first time, then you’ll do better the second time , but with this strategy, you are almost sure to pick up a few 7 on your first try.
Last step, write down the 7 riders you want to close monitor, sack and hire scouts to match their speciality and you’re done!
Last thing for the baroudeurs, if you see a very good baroudeur, close monitor him. He can become a great COB or TT guy.
PS: I just finished my close monitoring, I got 5 guys 7-8, 1 guy 6-7 and 1 guy 5-6
, but with this strategy, you are almost sure to pick up a few 7 on your first try.
