Right, time to open a thread that quite often many of you have been waiting for! Suggesting new riders to be added to the DB.
Main areas of focus are:
- Riders currently in the DB as Free Agents, who may deserve better stats
- Young riders: DoB 1992/1993/1994
- Some riders from 1995, although not the top talents
Roman has been doing quite a lot of work already on adding many riders, from all over the globe, who have scored CQ points but are not already in the DB. Any thoughts on riders such as that are very welcome.
If a rider has CQ points then the only reason you should mention them in this thread is if you are going to suggest something about their stats - there isn't as much of a need to simply link to them, as you can assume that me and Roman are already aware of them!
In terms of format of reply, the preferred option is to use that as shown in the template file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/twh1qwmhhqh...s.xls?dl=0
i.e.
ID | Surname | First name | Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | Nat. | Cont. | XP Level | XP Points | D | M | Year | Pot | 213 | Antón | Igor | 69 | 79 | 74 | 71 | 73 | 77 | 76 | 51 | 53 | 77 | 75 | 62 | 71 | ESP | EU | 4 | 100 | 2 | 3 | 1983 | 6 |
The priority is to fill in: Surname, Name, Nationality, Continent, Day, Month and Year of Birth. But the more the better.
If the rider is already in the DB as a Free Agent and you are suggesting improved stats, then include his ID.
Links to CQ and PCS pages of a rider are always handy as means to support your suggestion.
It is easier for me if the stats you propose are the 'maxed' stats that a rider would have.

I'm sure a lot of you have heard of Jesse Kerrison but Jackson Carmen is a great rider too...I used to race against him and he could climb and TT so well. I remember one race he waited a while attacked about midway and nobody saw him again. He really is a great rider but maybe not ready for the ManGame for being too young?? Not sure so I thought I'd add him just to see.

Well, Jacko Carman has shown some potential in the Aussie scene, but I guess it's too early to add him anyway. It's not like their weren't better riders like Brendan Canty, who should be added instead of a young gun like him
Also not too sure about Kerrison, who had a pretty quiet first year with the BMC dev team. I already suggested him last year though
Will try to get a short list ready on weekend.

Ryan has taken a massive step-up this year. He's developed into a very promising sprinter and performed really well on the domestic scene, winning a lot of high-profile races. He's beaten Nolan Hoffman in straight-up sprints (so Ryan is really fast). He's raced internationally as a junior, but hasn't really had the chance to do so again. He gets over hills quite nicely too. Had a bit of bad luck at WC when he got caught behind a crash in the end. He's the most talked about domestic young rider in SA. Spoiler 718 | Gibbons | Ryan | 74 | 65 | 69 | 62 | 74 | 68 | 76 | 64 | 78 | 78 | 65 | 68 | 67 | RSA | AF | 3 | 0 | 13 | 8 | 1994 | 5 |

He's lived in Belgium since he was about 15. Lots of promising results as a junior (ref. PCS). Definitely a cut above your average South African domestic rider. Rode very well as a stagiare for MTN: spent most of the Arctic race pulling the bunch for Edvald (even won a prize on a stage as "best teammate". Was in the break for 3 stages of Tour de l'Eurometropole too! Definitely has the mould of a classics/Belgian type rider: strong on flats, hills, cobbles. To me, he's very talented and I'm quite surpised MTN hasn't picked him up yet. Spoiler ... | Julius | Jayde | 74 | 62 | 75 | 64 | 74 | 71 | 68 | 74 | 67 | 70 | 80 | 70 | 64 | RSA | AF | 3 | 0 | 27 | 8 | 1993 | 5 |

SA u23 TT champ. Strong and valuable teammate for Nolan Hoffman. Pretty much a big power rider and not a stage racer (although not such a bad climber). Recently won one of SA's premier criterium events in Cape Town by breaking away and staying away. Real strength lies in his TT ability though. Spoiler ... | van Niekerk | Morne | 73 | 62 | 65 | 76 | 69 | 72 | 70 | 58 | 66 | 68 | 70 | 64 | 76 | RSA | AF | 1 | 0 | 17 | 8 | 1995 | 3 |

A young rider who has slipped under the radar since he left the junior ranks - mostly due to a bad crash and subsequent injury. 2 x Stage winner at Niedersachsen Rundfahrt (Sagan, Degenkolb, Haussler, Kittel, have won stages there). Also a SA junior TT champion. He's a kid with lots of potential and already has junior palmares which are better than many WT pros - he just needs to find his feet again. He has a fast sprint, but can climb hills well too (3rd @ Philippe Gilbert Junior race). Spoiler ... | Felgate | Ryan | 73 | 58 | 74 | 70 | 74 | 68 | 70 | 58 | 77 | 77 | 63 | 70 | 72 | RSA | AF | 1 | 0 | 4 | 7 | 1995 | 5 |

As a junior he rode for the same academy I rode for now. Had some great results then like 2nd GC in Vuelta Besaya, 8th at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad Jnrs, and 25th at 2009 JNR WC (in a group with Skujins, Barry Markus, Zico Wayetens, Van Keirsbulck, Wellens, and others). Was one of the most promising alongside Meintjes, but unfortunately stagnated since about 2011 due to personal reasons and hasn't spent the time he should to develop in EU. Strong puncher, flat, and can handle cobbles well too. Spoiler ... | Bester | Shaun-Nick | 71 | 61 | 74 | 63 | 70 | 71 | 66 | 71 | 64 | 70 | 75 | 65 | 63 | RSA | AF | 2 | 0 | 10 | 3 | 1991 | 4 |

Somewhere deep in a misty mountain valley of Lesotho a young boy, Matala, stumbles upon a mangled Peugeot road bike - presumably the victim of a crash from a mountain pass far above. After some careful handy work back at his village, the mangled wreck has become Matala's ticket to a future: now he is able the regional school close to the mountain summit. Every day, for 12 years Matala rides up and down the pass - to school and back. Weekends he fetches supplies for his fellow villagers from the government station at the school. Now, Matala has finished school and has flocked to his uncle in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa in an attempt to find a job. One Sunday, whilst casually cycling up Town Hill, he passes a group of cyclists and is eagerly stopped by a man in a branded car... Spoiler ... | Seboka | Matala | 57 | 80 | 65 | 55 | 64 | 63 | 74 | 50 | 52 | 59 | 72 | 75 | 54 | LES | AF | 1 | 0 | 17 | 9 | 1994 | 3 |
| Nicolas Dougall | PCS | CQ | ID 5064 | XP 3.00 | Pot 5 |

Strong workhorse now riding for MTN. Strong performances in u23 races (like Azerbaijan). Seen countless times this year on the front of the bunch for MTN on all sorts of terrain. According to his bio on MTN's website, he could turn into a bit of a tour rider. Still, his strongest results come from shorter climbs and TTs and he seems much more of a power rider and workhorse (like Christian Knees). Spoiler 5064 | Dougall | Nicolas | 74 | 65 | 69 | 62 | 74 | 68 | 76 | 64 | 78 | 78 | 65 | 68 | 67 | RSA | AF | 3 | 0 | 21 | 11 | 1992 | 5 |

First is Level 1.00 and second is 4.100
France
| Marc Sarreau | PCS | CQ | ID X | XP 1.00 | Pot 6 |
Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | 70 | 60 | 68 | 60 | 66 | 70 | 66 | 68 | 70 | 68 | 68 | 67 | 69 | 73 | 63 | 77 | 61 | 74 | 74 | 70 | 68 | 73 | 76 | 75 | 70 | 70 |
Marc Sarreau is a prominent talent and has for the past 2 seasons ridden for FDJ.fr and has shown great potential. He has the potential to become a strong puncher and has shown he can do well in Sprints and Prologues. His focus is on the french and belgian races, where he has consistent results in both flat and hilly races, for him best mixed with each other. Spoiler Sarreau | Marc | 70 | 60 | 68 | 60 | 66 | 70 | 66 | 68 | 70 | 68 | 68 | 67 | 69 | FRA | EU | 1 | 0 | 6 | 10 | 1993 | 6 | Sarreau | Marc | 73 | 63 | 77 | 61 | 74 | 74 | 70 | 68 | 73 | 76 | 75 | 70 | 70 | FRA | EU | 4 | 100 | 6 | 10 | 1993 | 6 |
| Pierre-Roger Latour | PCS | CQ | ID X | XP 1.00 | Pot 6 |
Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | 69 | 70 | 69 | 65 | 72 | 71 | 69 | 63 | 63 | 69 | 71 | 73 | 66 | 70 | 79 | 77 | 66 | 75 | 76 | 76 | 63 | 63 | 76 | 80 | 76 | 67 |
Pierre Roger Latour is France best chance of winning the Tour within the next 10 years of the young talents around. He is without no doubt a pure master at everything that goes uphill. A part of AG2R for many seasons and he looks to have gathered much experience already. He's gonna be a big star no doubt and looking at results he is already contesting with the best. 5th in Vuelta a Burgos, 7th in Tour of Austria and 3rd in Tour de l'Ain is impressive considering shining in the hardest terrain to outshine others in Spoiler Latour | Pierre - Roger | 69 | 70 | 69 | 65 | 72 | 71 | 69 | 63 | 63 | 69 | 71 | 73 | 66 | FRA | EU | 1 | 0 | 12 | 10 | 1993 | 6 | Latour | Pierre - Roger | 70 | 79 | 77 | 66 | 75 | 76 | 76 | 63 | 63 | 76 | 80 | 76 | 67 | FRA | EU | 4 | 100 | 12 | 10 | 1993 | 6 |
Poland
| Eryk Laton | PCS | CQ | ID X | XP 1.00 | Pot 4 |
Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | 69 | 60 | 65 | 63 | 68 | 71 | 65 | 60 | 69 | 69 | 73 | 65 | 65 | 76 | 60 | 66 | 63 | 73 | 72 | 76 | 65 | 76 | 76 | 73 | 66 | 65 |
Eryk Laton has had a really good season for CCC and his role has been as sprinter for the team. Here he has some Top 10's and shown that he can be a prominent sprinter and will most likely develop into a strong leadout. Despite being a sprinter he is a work horse for his team and does most of the teams chasing. Spoiler Laton | Eryk | 69 | 60 | 65 | 63 | 68 | 71 | 65 | 60 | 69 | 69 | 73 | 65 | 65 | POL | EU | 1 | 0 | 22 | 8 | 1993 | 4 | Laton | Eryk | 76 | 60 | 66 | 63 | 73 | 72 | 76 | 65 | 76 | 76 | 73 | 66 | 65 | POL | EU | 4 | 100 | 22 | 8 | 1993 | 4 |
| Szymon Rekita | PCS | CQ | ID X | XP 1.00 | Pot 5 |
Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | 65 | 60 | 60 | 69 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 62 | 64 | 66 | 67 | 72 | 69 | 72 | 60 | 63 | 78 | 70 | 74 | 73 | 62 | 64 | 66 | 72 | 73 | 78 |
Szymon Rekita is Polands most promising prospect at the moment and he is one of the best Time Trialists at his age. He has been a trainee at Trek for the whole season and in the U23 scene he has some consistent results among the best. He has won the Polish U23 NC for the two last years and also did quite well in the European Championships, despite his inability to climb very well. Spoiler Rekita | Szymon | 65 | 60 | 60 | 69 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 62 | 64 | 66 | 67 | 72 | 69 | POL | EU | 1 | 0 | 15 | 11 | 1994 | 5 | Rekita | Szymon | 72 | 60 | 63 | 78 | 70 | 74 | 73 | 62 | 64 | 66 | 72 | 73 | 78 | POL | EU | 4 | 100 | 15 | 11 | 1994 | 5 |
| Przemyslaw Kasperkiewicz | PCS | CQ | ID X | XP 1.00 | Pot 5 |
Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | 64 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 65 | 63 | 63 | 63 | 63 | 66 | 72 | 67 | 66 | 71 | 66 | 70 | 75 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 63 | 63 | 66 | 77 | 68 | 75 |
Przemyslaw has already made his influence on the highest level and can both climb and do a Time Trial perfectly. Best guess is that his gonna turn into a strong TT rider, as it's where he has is best results. Przemyslaw is not the quiet type and also features in many breaks. Hilly TT's is pure candy for him and usually gives him the final edge over others. His biggest achievements remains in the U23 scene though Spoiler Kasperkiewicz | Przemyslaw | 64 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 65 | 63 | 63 | 63 | 63 | 66 | 72 | 67 | 66 | POL | EU | 1 | 0 | 1 | 3 | 1994 | 5 | Kasperkiewicz | Przemyslaw | 71 | 66 | 70 | 75 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 63 | 63 | 66 | 77 | 68 | 75 | POL | EU | 4 | 100 | 1 | 3 | 1994 | 5 |

Track cyclist with some great results (linked), who seems to have disappeared without any trace. Best results seem to be on scratch and a few decent ones on points races, could be a fun rider to blame constantly for failing to sprint

Possibly the biggest Dutch talent, who is looking to join the MG. At young age already having a nice palmares. Pretty solid allrounder, who can pass hills, cobbles and also has a decent speed in the sprints. In especially from smaller group. Very strong rider and high potential guy to become the Netherlands best puncheur in some years time. As 1992 rider he could possibly start as level 2 rider already or even 3.

Ockeloen is already in the DB but I think a stat update could be handy here as he seems to climb better than his MG stats suppose. A Rob Ruijgh kind of helper guy in stage races.

Solid one day classic guy. Allrounder but definetely a lot weaker as Gerts for example.

Brusselman is another of those one day classic riders. And another one who is a bit weaker as previous mentioned. Good rider to have for depth and support for sure.

One of many hilly sprinters these days. Not the strongest but good enough for a nice performance here and there. Other than that mainly a guy to work for his leaders.

Meijers is a promising puncheur. He had some solid performances and could still improve in future.

He is topped though by Tusveld, who is an even more promising youngster. Was strong in races like Piccolo Lombardia (3rd, 2015) or Paris-Tours Espoirs (2nd, 2014&15) or 9th in LBL U23 this year.

I see what you're trying to do there, and I tell you it's not going to happen

Nope. Not trying anything there. Just thought as he is 1992 and not 1994 for example and already is in a WT squad with results even, he could start higher than level 1. |

Sure, I was just joking around.
Also, if we want him to have such diverse stats, we absolutely need to make him a higher level since otherwise, his main development option (hills) will be outclassed by others, just like what happened when we added Ewan on lvl1 pot7 and only then realized he'd turn out to be a better puncheur than sprinter.

I want him if he is implemented. Crazy ass stats - Probably just because we haven't had THAT strong talents for a while now

So like Demare if you went hills

Well I would suggest some Kenyans, if there were any with enough on the internet for an age or specialisation.
If you want some names and an idea of some stronger riders, this race could be a decent guide... https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.ne...19265eea47 |

What about Geoffrey Mutai or Dennis Kipruto who have made the transition to cycling?
