on the request of SportingNonsense, I'm just going to post the very basics of the game.
it's a f1 manager game.
I could talk endlessly of features, but...well....it's irrelevant, because anything you can imagine this kind of game having...it does!
And a hell of a lot more than what most people can think of, too.
EXCEPT for this: it doesn't have a full 3d mode. well, it does but it's a very simple one.
I don't think it needs one, though, for the very reason that Football Manager doesn't need one.
it's been in development since 1998 and the coding began in 1999, so as you can see they've had an enormous amount of time to implement pretty much everything.
if you want details on features, go to www.gprm.co.uk and check the FAQ. a few features are there, since people asked about them.
as for the release, they're just finishing the discussions with the publisher. the contract is lined up, just the small details of the release are still being discussed.
finally, the bad news. they recently learned they wouldn't get an official F1 license, so it's going to be fake teams, drivers, etc.
however, the way that the fans over there are, there's no doubt that VERY SHORTLY after the game is released, a 2007 f1 mod will be made.
hopefully I've gotten you a bit of buzz on the game, because it really is awesome. I only wish PCM would have this unbelievable depth of features. well...I can dream

Well if PCM should have them kind of features in the game they should start working on the PCM 2010 edition now and stop releasing the game until then hehe
And how would we demanding fans live without a new game until then ?? |

I've just had a read of the FAQ.
They planned to release this in 2001 and then 2003.
How did they manage to get the funds : that's seven years without selling a game!!!
Given the time spent on it, it should be ridiculously good, and the way you speak of it, I might just be tempted to buy it...that's if it is released

they all work part-time. they all have "real" jobs.
now that's dedication and love of the game for you

1 Question: Is it like PCM where the 'database' is easily editable? |

I have no idea, but the way things are done in software, I seriously doubt that it won't be.
in any case, you'll have mods, no matter how easy/not so easy it is to mod it, the community that exists there WILL mod it.
so I wouldn't worry too much about that

you're not remembering right, then
it's been changed a number of times since then. they've agreed a deal with a publisher a short time ago, and they're having meetings with them to decide exactly what countries it'll be launched in, how the cover's going to be like, what they're going to do about a demo, etc etc etc.
as the discussions go on, they're still taking advantage of the time to further improve the game.
