Tour de France Champion Posts: 27880 Joined: 20-10-2006 PCM$: 200.00	My tactics are usually very simple on hilly stages. I make all my riders protect the leader of my team, move them to the front. At first, it's no problem staying at the front, but later on I have to put my leader on relay just before the hill section starts. This means he ends up at the front of the peloton at the start of every hill - and stays there. Usually, the gaps are created by some riders getting faster over a hill than others - it kind of breaks at the top, so it's important to be there.

Grand Tour Specialist Posts: 4764 Joined: 24-06-2007 PCM$: 200.00	I allways counter when most of the favourites attack, usually 20 -30 km from the finish, sometimes later. then just spare your energy, drink just before the last hill and attack there and then it's usually not far to the finish so 99% relay should prevent them from catching you again.
