We'll start off softly with a 2,1 km TT that will serve to set a hierachy for tomorrow but not much more than that.
Tzortzakis is the first decent TT'er on the route and thus he sets the early reference time of 2'58
Ulanowski just manages to beat that.
A fabulous time by Roy as he beats Ulanowskis time by 2 seconds.
Bonsucro seems to have a team built for the prologue as Reijnen makes it a provisional 1-2 in finish for them.
Popkov delivers by cutting 2 seconds of Reijnens time.
Gerdeman less than a second faster, but that's enough to take place in the hot seat.
Flens is the first of the big favourites. 2'52 is the new best time. Only one second faster than Gerdemann though.
With half the riders over the finish line this is the situation:
Rohan Dennis with a slightly disappointing provisional 5th place.
Kangert is looking for every second he can get to get a good GC result and today he gets a good start by just squeezing in ahead of Flens.
Gretsch found his way to the final podium spot, but was immidiately removed again by Bookwalter. The American would have hoped for more from today.
Gonzales Salas cuts yet another second off the best time.
Koren reclaims the stage lead for Gazelle less than a second faster than the ONCE-rider
Kwiatkowski appears to be in excellent form here as he takes best time with only 11 more riders to go.
He didn't even get the time to sit down in the hot seat though as Nepomnyachsniy managed to improve the best time by another second.
Apparently the organizers adjusted the times of riders within a second of each other to a slightly different finishing order:
