The Champs Elysses awaits, as the Tour comes to an end! One final sprint battle awaits, likely to be led by Bewley, Swift and Van Stayen, while Degenkolb, Kristoff, Vanderbiest and Guarnieri all hope to join in and cause a surprise.

There's plenty of interest from Becherovka and Venchi in chasing them down.

And as they race away from the Arc d'Triomphe for the final time, the gap is 40 seconds, and there is 14km to go. The capture seems inevitable.

It does take some time to close it though. Vesuvio in control as it falls to 27 seconds at 9km to go.

Suddenly pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Dockx emerges at the front of the peloton. Van Stayen in tow, with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/pok2.png Degenkolb looking to catch up. This just shows how much the peloton has slowed.

The breakaway has never won on the Champs Elysses in the MG, and this is the 9th time down it. Surely that is about to change, and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/qst.png Houle still leads into the final kilometre.
