For all of those who couldn't care less about Levi, we have a new area to post you views about how pathetic he is (I mean come on... he wouldn't have probably made the top 5 if not for the riders kicked out).
If we get enough support, we will create our own petition to block Levi Leipheimer (not Astana, Contador is a beast) from riding in the Tour.
So who is with me? |

As obvious as it may seem to you, considering the insane things I see in forums all the time it's not that obvious to me so, I'm sorry, but I really have to ask:
You're being sarcastic, right?

You just made an enemy deadpool. shut the fuck up and take that dick out of your ass. Don't be a fucking faggot. How retarded can you be? Isn't it Contador who is implicated in Puerto? I didn't see Levi's name on any of those lists, and have never seen any accusations of Levi playing foul. If the riders who are getting kicked out are doped up to their eyeballs, you really do believe they should be allowed to ride. It is fucking douchebag idiots like you who bring this sport down. get a fucking life. You apparently have no idea how hard this sport is and to write off one of the greats as "pathetic" just shows how much you know.
And no one bother reprimanding me for "flaming" him. I mean every single word of it.

I got it from that website...
And I'm only being half-sarcastic, I don't like Leipheimer. |

I don't think Leipe doped, I just think he is an overrated rider. Has he done anything recently that didn't involve either the Tour de France or Tour of California?
It's the same reason that although he was a great rider, I don't consider Lance to be on the level of Eddy. Lance won seven, Eddy five, I know, but Mercxx [sic (I guess)] won other things as well (and held the 1-hour record), unlike Lance who only rode the Tour in a truely comeptitive manner. |

Well, the whole point of Astana not being allowed to ride was the fact that they had lots of confirmed dopers last year (arguably the same this year, but not proven) and that ASO basically dont 'trust' them, so if Leipheimer is clean there is no reason for him not to ride the tour and he deserves a chance to ride it. (And I say this even though I'm not much of a fan of Levi)
Deadpool, a rider shouldnt be barred from the tour, because, in your opinion, he is overrated.

Lance actually also rode the Dauphine competitively to prepare for Le Tour. He also rode other races throughout the year. I think you'd find that to be able to peak as effectively as these riders do for one race they can only focus on that one race. To be able to ruin your body effectively to win an unhuman race takes dedication far above anything you, I, or 99% of the population will ever do. (also don't get me started on the cycling "greats" who existed in the times of drugs and not very effective testing...)
As far as Levi riding the tour goes, im not saying anything. The sport so far this year is tumbling down a rocky slope, and the boulders falling with it happen to be Astana. They'll make it through, and with their "great" anti-doping scheme they've put in place, next year they;ll be able to look back and say, look, no one doped, no one tested positive, let us ride. And the ASO and everyone else will be like, Yeah, we'll keep our word, welcome back.
End of. Astana is getting on with their racing, no manner of petition will make the ASO change their minds. They're french for goodness sakes!

I don't want to start an arguement, but do you really believe that is the reason they have omitted Astana. They may use that as an excuse to legitimize them being omitted, but the major reason is because of the ongoing ASO UCI battle. It is a power play by the ASO plain and simple. In my opinion. To be honest i used to hate astana, i can't say i am fan of theirs, but i will cheer some aspects of the team.

Even though im not a huge Leipheimer fan, these arguments make no sense, when you try to defend his exclusion you cite him not being as good as Mercxx. Nobody should be barred from racing becuase they arent goood enough. He himself was not singled out. If he were on another team there would be no problem as he has no evidence or even suggestions against him. I believe that ASO should say that nobody implicated in Puerto or such should be able to ride. It would allow riders with a clean record to be unaffected by other on their team, or its past, while taking out most of the tainted riders.

Not that Deadpool ever accused Levi of anything but he stated clearly that dopers deserve to ride the tour more than Levi. I thought that was clear...

So who is with me?
So we should let riders implicated in Puerto ride(Contador), and not allow Levi to ride why exactly? Because a podium in the Tour isnt good enough? ok, so Popovych, Sastre, Kirchen, Schleck, and others shouldnt be racing either? How does him racing against somewhat legitimate competion make him any less of a rider, or any less sorthy of riding? So, wouldnt whoever raced in this Tour be crap since they didnt beat Levi? Rassmussen would have finished above him, but was likely doped. You still cant find another 2 guys that were kicked out that would beat him, especially not clean.
Sure, i have my qualms like in TOC stage 2 last year, when he was gifted the jersey when organized gave himm the same time as the leaders. I think B-J-M should have gotten the lead, if I remember right. Of course, this was outside his control, and does not reflect on him though. But your points are at the very least, rediculous.

I did some research and while I am sure Levi wants to ride, Trek registered and maintains letleviride.com. The sponsors of a team like the 2008 Astana team have a lot to lose by not having their guys in the big races. Much more than Levi has to lose I think and I am not sure he commands the power to make a sponsor like Trek do his bidding.
Don't get me wrong I like Levi and would like to see him ride, but one man doesn't make the race and I am far more disturbed by the fact that Contador, who has not been charged with anything as of yet, is not able to ride when he is the defending champ. And that an entire team is being punished for the failures of riders who are no longer associated with the team. If the ASO doesn't trust Astana and has it in their power to prohibit them I wonder what Cofidis and Highroad been able to do that makes the ASO trust them anymore.
